Trying to find out if this symptom is related to Lyme or something entirely different. Would appreciate input if others experience this. On certain days, not all the time, it feels like the muscles to my eyes are fatigued and hurt. Similar to when you My vision is perfect but it just feels like the muscles aren't working quite right. It ends up making me feel sick to my stomach and I have to keep my eyes shut to relax them.
Anyone else experience this or know what to do to relieve this?
I've tried cold packs, hot packs etc...nothing seems to work.

Yes, this was one of my Lyme eye symptoms. For me, this remedy worked, altho we have learned that we're all different in our responses to any treatment, including this one.
I drink mangosteen juice, an anti-inflammatory antioxidant juice, and it stops all Lyme eye symptoms for me. There are lots of versions - the one I drink is the Ultra mangosteen brand with 70 minerals added.
If you try it, go slowly and drink a lot of water too.
We have recent threads on the subject, including a long one with around 60 responses, if you do a search for "mangosteen".

Thank you, I'll look into that. I've heard about it for years but never tried it.
My first post was supposed to say "Similar to when you have the flu and your eye muscles hurt"... (that part got cut off).

It may not be so much your eyes as your ears. You say you experience nausea which I bet is a sort of sea-sickness feeling.
Your eye muscles may be going through very fast spasms. It is called NYSTAGMUS.
When vision does that to the stomach, the inner ear is often under some sort of stress. Lyme can and does affect every organ, function and system of our bodies so I can't say that your eyes are not affected but my guess is it's not just your vision.
GINGER CAPSULES (not just the tea). MAGNESIUM. Those are your top two supplements that may offer help. Much more below.
Be sure to tell your LLMD and also look over the side-effects for every medicine you are taking. Your LLMD may refer you to a LL ear specialist - or an eye specialist. But, as these sort of symptoms are so common with lyme, be sure to first consult your LLMD about it. Again, magnesium is your best friend if this is nystagmus.

Liver support during treatment is also vital as porphyria can cause problems with the eyes. Many lyme patients have a sort of secondary porphyria that causes excess porphyrins which can damage cells.
It's very complex but the basic thing to remember is to ALWAYS support the liver and never push it too much. More details here:

Just so you don't feel alone, I get this too. Feels like I've been watching a SUPER high speed tennis match or migraine behind eye feeling--hurts to move eye from side to side or up and down.
It doesn't happen that often so I just grit my teeth. I do have many vestibular problems so Keebler's ideas, as usual , sound right.

If it's just muscle fatigue, putting a drop of Peppermint Oil above each eyebrow should help refresh the muscles. It will also wake up your brain.
I used to get this, and to me it felt like both eyes would not focus on the same place at the same time.
If you try this, but sure you buy Essential Oil, that is ok for topical use.

Yes, I think we're talking about the same thing. There is the pain behind the eye, and then also the focus problem...like when you've been drinking a little and it's hard to get your eyes to do what you want them to do. Thanks for sharing, I wasn't sure if this was a Lyme symptom or possibly something else.
