I tested positive in summer of 08, local MD gave me Dox for 3 weeks. I had severe flu like symtoms (no rash). Symptoms got better and I was deemed cured. I had bruised my achlese tendon during that summer, but it got worse. This summer in June of 09 I had it operated on. Bad decision. The lymes went off. My leg swelled and MAJOR PAIN. All joints, muscle pain, nerve pain, dizziness, blurred vision, brain fog etc. Neuro Lymes as I have since learned. MD put me back on Dox for two months with very little improvement. I demanded more agressive treatment. IV rocephran. Just finished 28 days with good improvement, but my MD is through with me. He wants to referr me out to who ever I can find. I know I need long term help. Could someone please tell me if the LLD in Denton Tx is good it is app 4 hours away.

Hi J8,
I'm not familiar with any of the docs over that way, but wanted to say hi and welcome! Try posting over in the seeking a doctor section too. Hopefully someone will be along shortly that can be more helpful!

I have been to the doc in Denton. He is good, just not as experienced as some. But he will take care of you. You should be tested for co-infections too.

Thanks for the info. I contacted the Denton office and they could get me in next week. I'm just hoping to find a local Dr, under my insurance, to work with him.

My wife and I went to Dr. W in Denton. He's a good doctor but still somewhat of a newbie. But he can get you well on abx. He and his wife both had lyme disease at one time.
As I understand it, he recently closed down his ob/gyn practice to focus exclusively on lyme patients. I was his first male patient. He follows Dr. B's guidelines and he should be able to get you well.
My wife got better from his treatments, however, I did not get better on abx treatments. That was not his fault, it's simply because my body does not respond well to abx. Abx tore up my stomach pretty bad and the side effects to many of them were more than I could handle. My wife did fine on abx. She's doing great today and no longer on abx.
How long have you had lyme? The sooner you get treatment the better your chances are of getting better.
If you have any questions feel free to send me a pm.

I know a local doctor in OKC who will work with Dr W in Denton. The local doctor here has another lyme patient and he works with her LLMD. He worked with my LLMD too when I was going to him.
If you are in the OKC area let me know and I'll pm you the name of the doctor here in town that will work with your LLMD.

I see Dr. W in Denton and I love him. He is new but he wants to fight this disease. He has called to talk things out with us and has a great bedside manner with me and my husband. Since I have tons of brain fog and memory issues he makes sure to explain everything to my hubby. Also I was pregnant at the time I got infected so at each appointment he makes sure that the baby isn't showing any symptoms. He is wonderful
