Be careful with raw garlic, it can irritate your stomach. Best to eat it with food.

Coconut oil can very very effective for yeast and bacteria as well.

Start off slow..maybe 1 tbsp at a time. I use to alternate between coconut oil and kefir and it worked really well.

Hmmm...raw garlic can be pretty rough. Does it have the same effect if lightly sauteed/or roasted in olive oil? ....Could then mix it with veggies etc....

Street,

If you are having trouble with the 2 tinctures your LLPA gave you, this may not the the time to start chomping on garlic. As Gael said, it can irritate but it can also burn tender tissue in the mouth, esophagus and stomach.

It might be best to ask your PA about this. And, if he thinks you can tolerate it, start with a small clove, barely breaking the skin with your teeth and swallow whole, with food, in the middle of a meal. See how that does. I'd stick to one small clove a day until you think you could do two.

Freeze dried garlic capsules (and especially Allicin capsules) contain more allicin, the ingredient that we most want - and the capsules protect the mucous membranes from being exposed to the hot garlic oil on the way down.

However, whole, raw garlic contains some things the capsules don't and it's relatively inexpensive. Whether raw or capsules, organic is vital to avoid farm chemicals. You've seen the Hepapro site. Here's anther good site for garlic capsules.

Keebler, do garlic caps provide the same benefit? Am planning on stopping meds on my 7 yr old (after a year of treatment) in a few months.
He can swallow meds with no probs... am considering buying garlic caps for him.
