yesterday i posted about my throat issue and feeling like there's constriction or a lump, well today i had something else strange happen

i went to the kitchen earlier with an empty stomach and tried to down a glass of water- something i never had trouble with in the past

well after like the third or fourth big swallow i got major pain in my chest and abdomen-like a cramp, so i immediately stopped drinking and after a few minutes its passed

is my digestion to blame maybe or what else could cause that? i would hope that in five months after an endoscope no growths could develop but that was a little scary.

Hello. I am not sure what is going on with you, so I can't offer specific advice. However, in my latest relapse of Lyme (Dec. 2009), I began to have involuntary muscle spasms and twitching in the jaw and throat area. My gag reflex became hyperactive, making it difficult for me to eat and swallow. This became worse when I would try to swallow. Eating became uncomfortable and difficult and I lost 10 pounds in a few weeks. However, I never lost the ability to swallow (no paralysis). Symptoms have subsided with treatment, although they are still there...but now I can eat and drink normally.

I would call your doctor to check in with this latest symptom. I share my experience even though it may be a little different. But I now appreciate the miraculous event of being able to swallow.Good luck.
