i have a question for you. many people here who have babesia describe that they are sweating at night... drenching wet sweats.
since i am sick, i m sweating under my arms during the day... at night im not sweating.
so im asking which bug could it be, i read something about bartonella could cause this??
since 1 week im taking 800mg flagyl and 300mg mino a day and im sweating like hell every day.. my brain is a little bit "frozen" too.. i can hardly think.. very dizzy all the time.. but burrascano described this in his guidelines. could this be herx? because of what?

I really want to know the answer to this. My hands and feet sweat for no apparent reason. I thought it was Babesia but could it be another coinfection? Where's lymetutu?

Really? No one has input on the sweating question? I have read that it is Babesia, but I would like to know if there are any other coinfections that might cause it. In my case, I have excessive hand and feet sweating regardless of the ambient temperature.

I don't know the answer to your question, but I was treated for Babesia. I had night sweats, but just down my back and under my arms. Prior to infection, I never would sweat. Thought something was wrong with me. Now, I sweat all the time under my arms or anywhere that is not directly exposed to air. I've been thinking it is a toxic release. Toxins are known to come out of sweat glands and I sure have more toxins in my body now!

I have the sweating in the pitts also. Just all of a sudden the pitts will be drenched. My doc says this is a lyme symptom.
Seems likely for me to be lyme or possibly bart. I don't really have many babs symptoms.

I read in the book Cure Unknown that it is rare for a person with bartonella not to also have babesia. The hot flashes bart causes was for me, like walking into a furnace. I had to literally run outside into the cold air. The rest of the time I felt cold.
Recently with the lyme and bart suppressed, babesia emerged. I also never sweated before in my life even when it was hot and I was exercising. Now, out of the blue, I sweat on my torso and it is followed by a clammy feeling and my hands shake.

My llmd seems to think that with babs you have the drenching night sweats.
I also get the daily sweats; I've heard its lyme or bart.

I have regular junk labs + titers for Babesia WA-1 and have never had the night sweats. I sweat a LOT under my arms during flare-up roundabouts the day though.

@tx girl yes NIGHT sweats.. we talk about daysweating here...
daysweating under my armpits was my first symptom i had.. followed by swollen gland nodes under my arms... 1 week later total crash. so i think its because of bartonella.

I get the really sweaty underarms during the day thing too. I seem to get it off and on....a few days in a row here, a solid month sometimes, sometimes not getting it for awhile.
I have tested positive for both babesia duncani and bartonella henselae, and lyme, so I'm not sure what infection it is. I haven't really been able to figure out trends over the course of treatment that let me know which infection is the cause of that symptom.
Do you guys who have the sweaty pits also have REALLY bad fatigue? Not kind of bad, but really bad.
Wondering if that is also caused by whatever's causing the sweaty pits.

i didnt have much fatigue. i would say that im about at 85% of my old energy level. in my opinion its caused by babesia or bartonella.... the only babs symptoms i have are anorexia and the sweats under my arms. so i cant really figure out if i have maybe babs too.. lyme and barts are positive.

I have a lot of sweating too. i have babesia, bart and lyme. the night sweats have lessened quite a bit. my doctor told me that localized sweating (i.e. under the arms) is not from the infection.
I don't believe this though as i never had sweating problems before i got infected. and the sweating can be nearly non-existent one day and on another i have to change my top because i have sweat through the arm pits.
i wish i knew which infection caused it. guess it doesn't really matter though as i want to get rid of all the infections!

like i said.. since i take flagyl.. im sweating like hell.. but there is no side effect that says that flagyl causes sweating.. maybe herx?

Hoosiers, yes I have the sweaty pitts and the horrible "profound" fatigue! It must be the same infection, but which one? My doc says Lyme.
Hoosiers, do you have pain, but consider the fatigue worse than the pain? For me the pain has been bad, but I always considered fatigue more dibilitating to me.

Did I read somewhere that sweat is a neurological thing? Flagyl side effects maybe? Have you looked at side effects for flagyl?

Day-sweating might be from the Flagyl, in part, but it is definitely also from Borrelia or a co-infection. I sweat like crazy regardless of temp, and I haven't begun my treatment yet. I have a towel next to my laptop so I can wipe my hands. Borrelia or one of the co-infections has to be causing the sweating.

I thought my drenching night sweats were lyme. I have not had it since starting treatment which was none too soon.
