Just wondering what can be safely taken for pain while on Levaquin. I know NSAIDS are a big no no.

Tylenol is safe Topaz, but it doesn't do anything for me.....motrin works for me and I wish that i could take one while on levaquin..but as you've said: NSAIDS and levaquin are not compatable.

My doctor has put pts. on narcotic pain relievers while on levaquin.

Thanks, feelfit.

Not sure if it works for me either as I usually take motrin or advil.

Isn't Tylenol very hard on the liver?

Oh, I didn't realize we couldn't take NSAIDS like Motrin while on Levaquin.

Why is that?

Anything else over the counter I shouldn't take? (that you know of....I'll be sure to start looking things up)

I'll stick to the Tylenol this month when I get those nagging menstrual cramps.

NSAIDS interact with levaquin and affect the nerve endings as i understand it...damaging them..so yeah, we want to avoid them.

I don't think that there was anything else to worry about Hoosiers...keep in mind that pepto-bismal has asprin in it.

When on levaquin, I took nothing at all. I read about the possibility (albeit, very slight) of brain hemorrhage, and decided I didn't really need pain relief.

(real helpful, I know...)

FF- children's pepto doesn't contain aspirin. I don't know how effective it is. My 22 yr old (healthy) neice has taken it with good reults, though.

I'd also prefer to take nothing unless absolutely necessary.

So far, I haven't needed anything. I'm achy in the morning but if I stick it out, it gets better as I move around.

The bottoms of my feet are quite achy but it's on and off throughout the day, so I've been sticking that out as well.
