My husband told me that for the past few nights since starting Factive, he has had a tough time sleeping b/c he feels his heartbeat vibrating in his head.

Has anyone else had this? If so, what helped get rid of it and what infection do you attribute it to?

Thanks,

tickbattler

I get this a lot, especially when I am herxing. I've had it the last few weeks in the middle of the night since switching from Mino to Doxy.

The heart pounding at night went away for a number of months, though, when I treated Babesia with Mepron and Zith. So, I wonder whether, for me, it represents a return of Babesia? I also wonder whether my Babesia symptoms become more noticeable when my Bart symptoms have diminished...and they have lately...who knows??

Sorry to hear he's having new troubles; hope your kids are feeling better!

Lynne

Yes, I have had it for the past month while on Levaquin and treating Bart....this and other odd head sensations wake me up at night.

No advice as to stopping it. I take some klonopin and it gets me to sleep.

Best,
Feelfit

Thanks Lyme and Feelfit,

Sounds like this is a herx from what you both have experienced. Thanks for the input. Let's hope this suffering will result in improvement soon for all of us.

Best,

Yes, I have this almost daily/nightly. I have it during the day sometimes and sometimes when I'm trying to rest/sleep.

Either I hear it pounding in my head/ears or I can hear a weird static sound in my head that pulses/beats to my pulse, so yes... I get this a LOT. And I don't like it. It's annoying because I can take my own pulse just by listening to the pulsing in my head... LOL. I don't have to put a finger to my wrist or neck... I can just lay there and count it from the pulsing in my head. NOT NORMAL!!!! LOL.

I don't know what causes it... but I've always just thought maybe it was a POTS type symptom. Maybe due to blood pressure issues. I am not sure though. [Frown]

I had it really bad while taking Malarone. I think it was a side effect of the med.

This is the most troubling (abnormal symptom) for me, outside of shaking--myoclonic type stuff that goes for 2 hours straight some times. Enough to make a sane person...feel like they have lost it.

I dont have any remedies that i can provide. Just know this is the strangest feeling too-you're definitely not alone.

I am just treating lyme, but hope that treatment for Bart and Babs knock this stuff out.

I have the heartbeat sound in my right ear ever since I started Ceftin about 11 months ago.

I noticed that when I herx or rife, that the heartbeat gets more noticable.

I get this all the time but most recently on the malarone, i noticed my head pressure would rock left to right as my blood pumped. very odd sensation.

i am dealing with this now. it started two years ago, along with some fullness in the left ear (i could hear my pulse in that ear too). it never really left, even after i got into remission.

however, for the past few months the pulsing is worse and i also feel my head moving as the blood is pumping, it is moving to the pulsing. i feel more nerve things (like a jittery/trembling feeling throughout my body too, especially in my left arm, which goes along with the pulsing, if that makes any sense).

I am thinking i am going through a relapse, but these are my only symptoms, along with a little lightheadedness at times. I had an abnormal EEG and am getting an MRI done next week (because i just feel this has to get figured out to be certain it is indeed the infection). I am also going to see an ENT, who has a background in neurology of the ear, as far as i can tell.

will report back if i find anything else out. it did all start while i was treating babesia though with mepron/zith 2 years ago.
