I'm having a horrible time with my nerves ever since my meds were increased. I don't know if this is a form of herxing or if this is a side effect from the meds. Years ago I had panic attacks, but they ended once I was properly treated for hypothyroidism. I've recently had my thryoid levels checked and they are fine. (Yes, it is a complete thyroid panel). The panic attacks have begun ever since I increased the doxy and added the valtrex and metformin.

L thyroxine 175mcg (for hypothyroid)
Doxy 200 mg twice daily (for tick borne disease)
Valtrex 500 mg twice daily ( for Ebstein Barr virus)
Fluoxetine (prozac) 20 mg once daily (for perimenopausal symptoms)
Metformin 500 mg twice daily (for pre diabetes)
Misoprostol 100 mcg twice daily (for stomach support bacause I take so many ibuprofen for pain)
Peptic Care zc (to prevent upset stomach)

So......herx? Meds? Or unrelated?
The last time I visited my LLMD I mentioned my nerves getting worse. However, this was before the change in meds and before the panic attacks. He did not prescribe me anything. I can handle this at home. However, at work I am finding it extremely difficult to function. Advice?

Adrenal Fatigue causes panic attacks.

Adding new medicines, herxes, etc cause stress on the adrenals which in turn can lead to panic attacks.

Panic attacks are simply a brain miscommunication. Overexcitement, norepinephrine, epinephrine levels.

Fight or Flight mode.

All adrenal related.

I read online that Doxy caused anxiety in some people.

Hope you feel better.

Lyme Disease causes low magnesium, as the Lyme bacteria use it up.

Low magnesium can cause panic attacks, among other things.
