Need feedback for Dr.J in Hermitage, Pa for late stage lyme that was not treated for 12 yrs. What are his methods for treatment? Is he a lyme literate doctor and does he take Medicare? I would have to drive 6 hrs for treatment but want to make sure he would be aggressive in his treatment and he knows what he is doing.

I don't know about that doc but Dr. B in West Chester is pretty aggressive so long as you can deal with his complete disorganization. I think Dr. S that Dekrator sees might be a good option, but I would check with that poster. He sounds very knowledgeable. Can't remember where he is though.
One of the most aggressive docs is Dr. H in NY. My husband and I go to him and are very happy with him.

I saw Dr. J this week for the first time. I found him to be very knowledgable and he is very friendly as well-will answer questions and discuss options. He is willing to give the treatment that is needed. He also did some additional, more indepth testing to get a clearer diagnostic picture. I am very happy that I found him and will continue my treatment with him. I have chronic late stage Lyme (since 1988). Thumbs up.

If I recall, he doesn't believe in co-infections.

He doesn't think that co-infections are common, but he will test for them.
I was sick for around 6 years before I saw him. Treated for about 2 years, and then I was symptom free for the past year.
Unfortunately, I just had to go back a few weeks ago for round two.

Best to hear first-hand from patients. I'm glad he does acknowledge them and has helped a lot of people!
