I started Houttuynia about 6 weeks ago, then added Resverotrol. I was already on Cumanda for a long time up to 25 drops twice daily.

I started slow with HH and worked up to 3 caps a day. Then added the Resverotrol, but never did more than 3 a day. I also was on grapefruit seed extract for a long time prior as well. 4 caps twice daily. I added in Samento, but could never do more than 2 drops a day.

The past month on this regime, along with Ceftin and probencid I was feeling it hitting things, but I then had a horrid herx. Severe anxiety, shaking, sweating palms, feeling like I would black out, eyes all red, unbelievable burning and twitching, pain in the bones of feet and hands, shins, muscle pains in legs.Disc pain, back stiffness, shortness of breath and rib strangling, heart palps too.

I stopped everything a couple of days ago. LLMD liked this protocol initially, but said to back down since it seemed to be too much.(I was pretty much useless all month, then got bedridden)

I seemed to be ok when I was doing this and was on Omnicef. Then insurance made me switch to Ceftin. I am not sure if the Ceftin herxed me much more or I went downhill. I believe I am having a bad herx, but I have symptoms I haven't felt in a few years. I never had nausea and even had that mildly. I know Bart can cause stomach issues, so I am thinking maybe a Bart herx.

All so confusing.

Wondering if anyone has used this combo before of herbs? According to Buhner, Resveratrol hits Bart also. I was a bit nervous about mixing Cowden herbs with Buhner herbs, but Cowden has HH also, just not resveratrol.

I felt the same way when I was on Rifampin briefly. I thought this would be gentler, but apparently not. [dizzy]

I think I may be on to something with this combo, but I will be backing down for maybe a week to see if the symptoms abate. Then I can gauge if Omnicef was working better and if some symptoms were because of the switch to Ceftin. Even thought they are both cepholosporins, LLMD said that some people do better on one over the other. Or, since I was on Omnicef for a while- about 3 months, that the switch surprised the chetes.

But, for Bart, if these herbs are compatible, then this may be my magic bullet for Bart. I don't test positive on blood, but did test POS during ART testing for 4 strains. 2 were dead or dying, and 2 active. (I did Levquin/doxy already and did great on that)but they may not have hit all my strains. I also will be going to a kineseologist to check the herbs with muscle testing. Yes, i know I should have done this first, but I did try it and I think it works- maybe too good.

I wish this disease were less complicated. [Roll Eyes]

I often got bedridden during herxes, that was very typical, especially when I was at the point where I was pretty much useless on a "normal" day. I don't think that's abnormal for Lyme treatment.

If you were doing well on the combo, was it the new med that pushed you over the edge? Were you on all that stuff for only six weeks? Or were you on it when you were on Omnicef still?

Even when I was finished with Lyme treatment, resveratrol was one I had to ramp up on. I would get GI trouble from it.

Maybe you should add everything back one thing at a time so you can see what product is the one pushing you over the top. If it was just a hard herx, then it might just be something you need to deal with to beat down the load.

I can't tell from your post how you do when you're not on meds. If you are highly functional and become bedridden from this treatment, it's too much. However, if you are not functional at all and become bedridden, it might be a normal herx. Just be careful. If you have access to good muscle testing, I'd make use of it.
