I've had an interesting last few days. On Wednesday I was to have the picc line inserted and during the procedure the dr passed out TWICE! It was crazy!! After all that they couldn't get it placed correctly and didn't have the correct kit?!! It was very unprofessional and unorganized.
So yesterday went to a different hospital and had it put it. Much better. But it is very sore. Is this normal?
I'm starting the IV ROcephin tomorrow and am a bit nervous. I've been feeling MUCH better except for serious fatigue. I've been off antibiotcs for atleast a month now and many of my symptoms have gone or gotten better! Very strange. I'm a bit worried that the IV abx is going to make me go down hill again.
It's normal to be sore for awhile. You shouldn't have anything to worry about with the rocephin. They did make me have the first dose at he hosp to make sure I didn't have an allergic reaction.
I didn't, and tend to be alleergic to alot of things. It'll be ok.

Yes it was quite a day to say the least!! I still haven't hear as to why he may have passed out.. it was the radiologist who was doing the procedure. It was done in the OR and there were luckily others in the room. I'm starting to think maybe he had a seizure. Either that or just plain stress cause he was having technical issues and realized they didn't have the correcct kit. Who knows. But I was mad that after he passed out the first time they let him continue working on me! NOT SAFE!!!
Thanks guys. I actually had the first infusion this afternoon at the hospital and it went fine. I'm actually having every infusion at the hospital. They don't do home health here and my dr wanted me to do it at the hospital. Fine with me... as the guy that did it today was nice to the eyes haha...
My arm is feeling a bit better this afternoon now. Barely know it is there.

IV Rocephin worked wonders for me. As far as being sore I dont know. When they inserted and completed my PICC line I didnt even know the Doc had actually started. Quite painless. Took about 3 minutes.
I thought she was preparing or something and then it was over and I went home.
I never herxed either. Got progressively better each day for 6 months while on IV. Had Babs also and treated with Mep/Zith.
