Has anybody head anything regarding mdl labs under investigation? I just had some test done & heard through my rheumatologist they had been under investigations. I am planning on having some other testing done but through Igenix.

You might see if they have a web site and check there. Then search for whatever agency investigates lab, cross-search with their name.

If you find nothing - or want more explanation, call MDL directly and ask. Go right to the horse's mouth for two reasons: 1) they have the right to know what is being said about them and 2) they can offer you specific detail and put it in the proper context.

An investigation can mean many different things, indeed.

Rheumatologists don't usually like the outside labs and may not get all the facts straight.

Please come back and post what you found out.

=======
P.S.

I just searched for "MDL, investigation, lyme" No results.

A search for "Medical Diagnostic Laboratories" - No results relating to this matter.

"Medical Diagnostic Laboratories" investigation - No results relating to this matter.

No notice on their site, either.

Here's their site - you can contact them directly: http://www.mdlab.com/html/home.html

DO you guys have an idea how many times IgeneX has been under investigation? MANY!

They have had to stop testing many times as well.

CLIA does this all the time, its probably a routine investigation.

Call them and ask if you are worried.

YEP..."Rheumatologists don't usually like the outside labs and may not get all the facts straight."

and WC is right about investigations.

The REAL labs are the ones with the truth. Evil doesn't like truth.

Lol... IGenix has been under investigation numerous times. That means nothing. In fact, it means less then nothing.

jpsmom,

If this is the lab to which your rheumatologist referred, you might set him straight because he's likely repeating the rumor to other patients who inquire about lyme testing, in an effort to discourage them or to discredit the lab's results.

MDL - Medical Diagnostic Laboratories - in Hamilton, NJ

---------------

I just spoke by phone with MDL customer service manager. She replied to my questions with surprise for such a rumor. Bottom line:

The manager was very clear: "We are not under any kind of investigation."

She has been there since 2002, during which time, she says "we have never been under any kind of investigation. Our certification is in perfect order and posted on the web."

MDL is a CLIA certified infectious disease laboratory. Certification and licenses are all up date and can be verified at their web site:
