I have been battling yeast, back and forth, for the past several months.

Since starting Rifampin 5 weeks ago, I have became sicker by the day. I feel like my body is completely full of toxins. I feel almost poisoned from abx. Don't even know for sure if I had a herx or just too many abx in my system now.

I want to concentrate on getting rid of the yeast and toxins from abx and adding more liver support.

I feel like I don't even know if I have bart, lyme or anything else the way my body feels from the abx alone. LabCorp test was negative for bart and babs, but who knows?

Should I consider a break or keep trying to push through since bart has not been addressed until now? How long of a break would be necessary?

It may depend on what you are battling it with. I take Nystatin 4 a day. I have had a couple of times

I had to stop a couple of days for fevers and it fixed the problem. I think one of the keys is if

you had one of those that seemed to help you the most go back to it. It has worked for me.

I'd talk with you dr and see what he thinks. I felt the same as you... SO sick..I took myself of abx for a break and within a couple days I felt WAY better! I was only going to take a week break and it ended up being over a month cause I felt so much better off. I'm now on IV, but still feel better than I did before the break.

Good luck and hope you feel better.

Jennie,

Your mailbox is full!

I had the exact experience as you on rifampin. I thought it was a herx, but it never got any better. I felt worse than ever.

I stopped all abx for 10 days and improved a lot. I should have done it sooner. I have now been on cipro (for bart) for 2 weeks so we shall see how I do on this, but so far not too bad.

Yes, you might need a little time off, but talk to your LLMD. But, important, do detox, and do tx for yeast!! And, as someone said, it may be the rifampin! It's known to cause all kinds of side-effects.
