What's the most milk thistle you've been told to take? I've been taking some supplements to help with the neurotoxins for about a month. The symptoms that I was having have gotten worse.
Blurry vision, balance issues,(not room spinning around, just VERY lightheaded, feel like I may pass out), sleepy, tired, brain fog, etc.
My ND said I was overloaded with toxins, die off, and to up my daily dose of milk thistle from 2 250mg. capsules a day to 4 capsules, three times a day!!
That would be going from 500 mg. a day, to 3000 mg. a day! He said that I should feel better in a couple of days if I do this.
What do you think about that much m.t.? The only major thing I've read about side effects is diarrhea.
I've upped the dose for the last day or so, but this morning, I still feel really bad.

Milk Thistle has been used extensively at high amts in Europe to treat cirrhosis of the liver with favorable results.
A quick Google search will yeild the amts. used.

- Search Google and PubMed as there are many good links to learn more about Milk Thistle. It would be good to read from at least several respected authors and then compare their approaches.

I don't think that dose will hurt, but I would be surprised if it does much to relieve symptoms. I look at milk thistle as more a preventative than a symptom control herb.
I would think that sarsaparilla would be more likely to help with die-off symptoms. Hubby's herbalist always wanted him to increase the dose of sarsaparilla during a herx -- he normally takes 4 x 500 mg capsules of that 3 times per day and has gone higher by adding in an extra 1 or 2 doses.
That is just my opinion.
