We think my 19 year old daughter has lyme and probably Babesiosis. Test result come back on 3/11/10. Anybody out there with pseudotumor cerebri. She has been getting eye pain, blurry vision and headaches. The episode only lasts about 5 seconds but very bothersome and happens 50+ times a day. She now feels her pulse in her eyes constantly. She hasn't been fully diagnosed with pseudotumor cerebri yet but when I looked up causes, of course, one of the causes was lyme.

Where's pab?? Hopefully she'll be along soon to help you. I believe her two sons had/have this issue as well.

I just reread the pharmacy warnings for my doxycycline this morning, and it mentioned pseudotumor cerebri as a potential side effect, so consider whether it could be related to any medications.

Lyme causes so many things and imitates so many diseases that it would not surprise me that it or a coinfection could cause something that imitates a brain tumor, but I don't actually know anything about it.

She hasn't started any treatment for lyme yet. We are waiting for our next visit to LLMD to get results of tests so she isn't on any medications yet that would cause this. Probably just another indication that she does have lyme.

There are a lot of medical journal articles describing it and arterial vasculitis caused by lyme disease. Prayers for a easy road.

Pseudotumor symptoms are fairly constant.
An eye check by her doctor to look for
edema of optic nerve called papilledema
would be helpful. My gut says it is
Lyme disease. My doxy headaches were
pretty continuous at times though. I am on third course of Doxy and headaches are minimal
now. The headaches you describe are like mini-migraines and I agree with Pinelady about lyme
related vasculitis as a likely cause. I am
not sure if Bb or Bart(I have read that Bart is notorious for causing vasculitis) or babesia or all three is/are the culprit(s) though. Would agree with treating Bb and Bart first though.
