Lulu,

I am sorry no one has responded. The usual advice with any meds with concerns to absorption or interactions is 1/2 hour before the med to 2 hours after the target med. I don't understand the 1/2 before, especially with an absorbing herb, and myself don't really believe that one. I usually try to do the two hours after the target med to prevent its absorption or any interactions with the other herbs and such that I also take.

Good luck.

If I was going to do activated charcoal, I would not take it within two hours before and two hours after meds or eating.

My thinking on this is that I wouldn't want the charcoal to soak up the vitamins and minerals in my food.

Just my thoughts!

2 hours before and 2 hours after any dose of A/C.
Tons of info and links: http://www.truthaboutlymedisease.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=286

If you read the links you will see A/C does not deplete vitamins or any foods, it only "mops up" toxins. It saved my son in an amazing way.

I spoke to my NP today and she said 2 hours either side even with thyroid meds but I will confirm with my endo at the end of the month

Has anyone used this for children? teenagers?

Our daughter is feeling awful. Started low dose of Cipro a month ago.

Within three days of starting this med, Dr. said she was herxing.

She has treated Lyme and Bart with other antibiotics before this change.

Head feels weird, feels hot and clammy ( no fever). tired, knees feel heavy, mild stomach pain. headache, etc.Anxiety.

She takes probiotics, milk thistle , lots of water, lemon water. vitamins, s. Boulardii.

Her LLMd is wonderful, I just wish he would support supplements.

I thought by now, month into low dose that things would be a bit better, at least herx wise.

This week things seem to be getting worse. Everyday a new symptom. I guess she is going through another herx.

Just looking for input from any parents that have used this with children. Dosage, etc.

Thanks in advance, Jane

Charcoal soaks up pretty much everything so I would take it as far away from meds as possible.

I wouldn't take it at all because it binds to the meds!
