Didn't cry today at all. Had more energy. Aching pretty much resolved. Was able to go 1 1/4 mile on the treadmill which has sat for several mos. And I even jogged some of that too.

Was able to go outside and throw the football around with my son without feeling like I was going to fall over.

That bopping up and down feeling like I'm on a boat is like gone or very minimal if that.

My head doesn't hurt, but it still feels weird in the front.

I still feel that sense of being very sick, but I was laughing and listening to music and was out of bed the entire day.

Fatigue is still very much there, but also has let up.

The feelings like I tore muscles in my arms is better too.

Anxiety was down as well and just a little Xanax today.

So, how is this ? The only thing I did was restart the Doxy 200mg last night and this morning and restarted the Zithromax 250mg last night too.

Where did all of the Toxins go ? Did everything jump into cyst form. I'm very lost with all of this and my mind is very clear for once.

Someone please explain. And by all means, I am not complaining !!!

Gary,

I've noticed that your exercises always involve the treadmill and either long walks or jogs/runs.

Have you ever thought about using Dr B's exercise guidelines?

Based on how sick you are I'm not sure your body is ready for long walks/jogs.

Just my opinion.

I use to run 3 miles / day before I got sick. I just did a little over a mile and it was half fast walking and a slow jog for the other half.

I was feeling better before the run, thats how I was able to do it. Not familiar with Dr. B's guidelines for exercise. Do you have a link. I will wait 2 days before doing this again.

Sounds like the doxy and zith are attacking the infections.

You might have not been herxing when you were off the antibiotics for 12 days, but experiencing active infection. Glad you had some relief today,

Gary, check out www.ilads.org for the Dr. B treatment guidelines. I agree, cardio is too much right now! I always felt horrible after cardio in the beginning. Please check the guidelines. It's strength training, 3 or 4 days a week. Pilates, light weight lifting or exercises like that. Not cardio. Include stretching.

Maybe you killed off a bunch of ketes with all those meds you were on; and in the last few days, however many you have been off antibiotics, you got rid of most of the toxins and thats why you feel better.

Thats just a guess. It could be so many things. I wouldn't worry about it. You just can't figure out every single thing that happens to your body with this bizarre illness.

Lyme is a roller coaster - good days, love them while you can. Lyme will wax and wane, but 2 months of being symptom-free you will know you are nearly there.

I had 28 good days one time...then the herx began again.

I am definitely not trying to be a downer on this, I just know very well how the disease works.

Enjoy the 40% improvement, I hope it lasts.

gary. please do not overo it on the good days.

take it easy and jsut rest and pamper yourself with just a clear head and less symptoms...

After hearing how severe you get on bad days I would be careful and not do miles on the treadmill etc.

just thinking and I read above that others thought this too.

We just care.. and worry..

I have had this happen to me. I can suddenly get almost 90% well for weeks at a time (on or off abx) and then crash again.

I don't think there is any figuring out how lyme reacts. It is very frustrating and very much a roller coaster. I just try and enjoy the good days and think positive that I'm over it. I'm always a bit shocked when it comes back.

If you can tolerate the exercise .... definitely GO FOR IT.

Dr B is referring to people who are deconditioned from being sick and possibly bed ridden for so long or who obviously cannot tolerate exercise due to the illness.

Hindsight is 20-20.

It is crucial to keep your exercise program up to the best of your ability.

If the exercise does not cause major difficulty afterwards (like increased pain, throbbing, massive fatigue, etc) then....seriously....stick to it.

My opinion. Because if you treat yourself too easy (which, don't get me wrong, some must do this based on their individual condition and situation and response to exercise)....you will contribute to your own deconditioning.

But if you feel capable of what you are doing in your exercise program and there are no pitfalls afterwards, then this seems it would be every indication that you are on the right path for you.

For example, when I was in the worst of the babesia and treating it, I attempted to play a brief bit of basketball. Not much, a very simple thing for me. I had been training for a half marathon at the time right before diagnosis.

Not more than a few minutes into it, I literally fell down (completely uncharacteristic) and was entirely out of breath with heart pounding insanely. Was forced to sit down and gather myself.

Obviously I was in no condition for this. And it was entirely uncharacteristic.

If you, on the other hand, are able to do it and don't experience problems afterwards, keep doing it. I would.

The same thing happened to me. I think that the moment the abx gets into your system, those little $&^^^*%* bugs go into cyst form, which might mean less toxic junk in your system.

Also, I think that doxy has anti-inflammatory properties, so that may make you (and me) feel better too.

Turtle is right... Dr. B's guidelines are for the very, very sick and/or those who have become deconditioned due to lack of activity.

I think stretching, tai chi, yoga, etc. are better for people just starting out. From there you can move up to light weight training.

If you're committed to cardio, I would suggest using a heart rate monitor. Using one provides an objective report on how taxed your body is feeling. I wrote a article about it on my blog.
