I heard recently that frequent pain in thighs can mean a loss in bone density. Anyone else hear that?
They are talking about the dangers of some of the drugs such as Boniva....that they might actually increase the likelihood of breaking bones. And the thigh bone can be snapped just by stepping off a curb, they said.
I've had thigh pain for several years and have heard from people on the list that have it, too. I am thinking that I should probably get a bone density scan, just to be safe.
Any thoughts?

My pain isn't from bone density issues. Lyme & Co, here. I recently had a possible injury, but it looks like it is lax muscles from all these years of lyme & co untreated.

I get these horrible pains, like someone is sticking a cold ice pick in my thigh. They show up out of the blue. One minute I feel nothing, the next a horrible pain, then they leave as fast as they came. Weird.

Thanks for the input everybody. I just started taking magnesium at bedtime as well as Amrix. Both seem to help.
Good point about the Vit D. That is on my list to get. I also plan to get outside more and enjoy our wonderful sunny weather!
I agree about long years of illness. Now that I am feeling a little better I hope that more movement will ease the pain.
Can you believe it.....I actually played a little badminton with my grandkids on Sunday! They were so excited to see me moving. So was I!

I have thigh pain as well. Was found to be low on vitamin D. Have not had a bone density test, although it couldn't hurt.
