I'm curious how common right upper abdomen and flank pain is with Lyme? It's not a gall bladder type pain that one gets after eating fat, and the pain is more around to the right flank and increases when I take antibiotics. Abdominal ultra sounds shows no gall stones, but the gallbladder wall is thickened. The liver is unremarkable and labs are usually normal with the enzymes but will have mild elevations with antibiotics. I have had this pain for many years...it comes and goes completely for months at a time. Antibiotics will increase the pain. Sound familiar in this community?

Yep...I have had this for almost 2 years myself. Mine doesn't get any worse with antibiotics though. Sometimes I don't even notice it and other times it bothers me a lot more. It is very odd.
I had a full work up done last year and no one could figure it out. I had blood tests, ultrasounds, CT scans, endoscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy (a partial colonoscopy), HIDA scan. Nothing turned up.
My LLMD thinks it is my gallbladder despite testing that says it is normal. My HIDA showed that my gallbladder wasn't functioning at 100% so my LLMD thinks it is that. BUT it was functioning at I think 88% which was normal according to the GI doctor. Apparently it isn't considered abnormal unless it is 35% or under.
So I don't really know what to think. All I know is that all my tests were deemed normal. I am still unsure as to what this is. Just hoping it clears up with my lyme treatment.

I have this too. It has gotten much better with almost 2 years of treatment. I had gallbladder work up, 2 ct scans and all was normal. I think it could be inflammation.

This may not be in your case, but I have a sluggish bowel and have upper right side pain, and it is from constipation.
I had a CT scan with all okay in the area except that I retain an amount of bowel. Colonoscopy was okay.
I had taken Miralax and numerous other things over the years, but each one works for a while, then after about a one to two year period, I have to switch to something else.
All in all, when things are working somewhat I am relieved of the pain, and when the Miralax stops working, I know to switch to Metamucil or Citrucel or prunes, etc., and I am okay for another period of time, then I can switch back to Miralax.
Anyway, that is another reason for upper right side pain.
