i have what i call fatty deposits in my inner eyelid which causes them to droop. it's really starting to make my eyes look bad.

one doctor said it was cholesterol deposits called xanthomas. which i've seen pictures of and it's not them.

does anyone have these? anybody ever had surgery on their eyes?

my mom's were so bad they had surgery scheduled for her but she died before having it done.

"inner" eyelid?? Where is that??

My brother had some kind of fatty thing on one of his eyelids and he had it surgically removed.

oh.. I think I know what you mean. Yes, his was inside the eyelid.

I have the cholerestrol thingies that popped up on both my eye lids a couple years ago. It doesn't make sense to me because I don't have cholerestrol problems.

Here's site with pic http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Xanthelasma_palpebrarum.jpg

Doc says they aren't really sure what causes them. It's not always with high cholestrol. But they are yellowish and hold cholerstrol.

Then I started noticing these other fatty tissue areas on my actual eye lids. I haven't gone to the eye doc about them. Goodness does it ever end?

These droopy eyelids run in my husband's family. Eye doc said it is caused by a fat deposit in the eyelid. It is often hereditary.

When it got so bad that it interfered with hubby's vision, the eye doc took a picture of him and sent it to insurance company. They then agreed to pay for the surgery on the eyelid as it was not just for cosmetic purposes.

Surgery is done in the office and is quick and virtually painless. You are not put to sleep. The doc cuts the eyelid and sucks out the fat. Then, he stitches up the eyelid and you go home. The scar on the eyelid disappears quickly into the fold of the eye. So, it is a great procedure to have.

I highly recommend it, especially when it begins interfering with vision.

I had this "droopy eyelid" and also looked like the area just above my eyelid was very swollen.

I would have to hold my eyelids up in order to see.

Lyme affected my eyes drastically. Vision loss (not permenant), mucas drainage, infections, pain, double vision, floaters, felt like there was cut glass in my eyes, extremely crusty in am. The left was alway worse than the right eye.

This all resolved with long term antibiotics and detoxing!
