can lyme cause you to retain water? i have puffy areas around my ankles and slight swelling up my legs.

i don't know if it's water but i'm assuming it is.

do lyme patients have to take water pills? would those work?

i'm only taking one buhner pill per day now and that's it.

I know one lyme patient that gets lots of IV fluid everyday and she only pees about 1 time a day, she gets really fat too....

I don't know if that is a lyme thing or something else, she is a very complex and multi-problem person.

I don't know which TBI causes it or if several cause it but I have fluid retention and I know several others here have had it as well. It has been a major problem for me for years.

A lot of problems can cause edema such as congestive heart failure, lymph edema, kidney disease, liver disease, hormonal imbalance, candida, blood sugar difficulties, sleep apnea, food allergies, medications, toxicity, heavy metals (lead particularly), too much salt and the list goes on and on.

I would get it checked out by a doctor to make sure it is nothing that is immediately dangerous.

Even though I have edema I can't take diuretics (water pills) because they dump my blood pressure and it is already low.

I hope you get it figured out or better yet, I hope it goes away.

Terry
