So, this morning I had an abnormal EMG and the tech marked Causalgia on my checkout sheet. I am supposed to have an xray in the near future. Based on the results of these 2 tests, the neurologist will determine whether I should have an MRI.
Some background: I was dx with lyme in NOv 2009. I took antibiotics for 55 days. I stopped meds due to c diff. I am now (hopefully) cured of c diff. I am not planning to take any antibiotics for many months, due to fear of relapse of c diff. Lyme symptoms seem pretty manageable right now, so I'm not in a hurry to get back on meds, but will consider it in the future if needed. Only symptoms now are leg tingles, twitches (lip), neck/shoulder pain, and eye floaters.
Have any of you have an abnormal EMG? I'm trying to decide whether it's likely a result of nerve damage from lyme, or whether it's due to an old injury from a few years ago.
Also, I want to be sure I ask all the right questions when I go for my follow up.
As always, Thanks for all your input, L
