When or why will a Dr. use IV abx instead of oral abx? How does IV abx work? Do you have to go to the office several times a week to get it? Is it more effictive for nero lyme?

I.V. is more complicated, more risks. Usually a line is placed either arm or chest.
You self infuse at home with weekly visits from a home ralth nurse nurse.
Some insurance cos. only allow 28 days of I.V. so that can be hassle.
Risks include infections in line, blood clots that's just because the line is inserted in your body.
Many LLMDs don't rx I.V. unless really needed and you live in their immediate area.
Do a search, in I.V. here. Search is above under the "post a poll"

I ended up on IV because my neuro symptoms weren't getting any better on the oral meds, and neither was my pain.
I had no trouble getting my insurance to cover it, and ended up doing the Rocephin IV for 3 months. Just my experience.
