Anyone else have pain in their upper torso? Some days I feel like I have a big vice grip or shrink wrap around my upper torso and someone is pulling it tight. Some days I also have a lot of severe pain around my ribs. It is difficult to explain. My chest is also bothersome. I am not really short of breath but my chest often feels inflamed. Has anyone else experienced this? Does this sound like Babesia?

I get something similar.

Sometimes there is a ring of pain around my ribs and back. It'll come on suddenly, and while it lasts, I have a real hard time moving my torso. Almost feels like a muscle spasm. Sometimes I can get it to let up a little if I can find someone to rub my back a little.

I have no idea what it is or what causes it, but it eventually goes away, and I tend to blow things off that don't cause a huge dent in my lifestyle or that don't last. Probably not the best way to approach this stupid disease, but I have to go to work every day and if I didn't go when weird stuff happens, I'd never be at work!

Thank you for your responses. "Ring of pain" and "hugging way too tight" are very good ways to describe it. I'm guessing then that it is a symptom of Lyme since others have it as well. Since it is in the chest area, I wondered if it was a symptom of Babesia.

I get this too..I've been in tx for a year and some change. Its a fairly new symptom I've gotten since I started back on Mino. It usually only happens when I get anxious.

I've heard of something called the MS "hug" from a friend of mine, and it sounds exactly like what you describe.

BUT, because Lyme can be mis-diagnosed as MS, that doesn't really tell you anything. Sorry

Check out "Bells Palsy of The gut" There is a very good article on it written by Dr Virginia Sherr. You can type it into the searcg bar here or google it

I get this as well. I was thinking it was inflammation in the rib cage.
