I feel horrible for him if he's been "lymed," but it could possibly bring some much needed AWARENESS and PR from a celebrity.
I bet there are so many other celebrities out there who are dealing with Lyme & Co., and we just don't hear about it. It's not the "in" thing to have in Hollywood or wherever if you're a celebrity............how ridiculous!
If you read the article, please read the comments made below the article by the general public. It will blow your mind.
Take care, terri3boys

Doesn't that just make your blood boil when you read the remarks below the article???????????
My jaw just hit the floor as I was reading them! It shows how ignorant (or UNINFORMED) the general public is when it comes the the REALITY of Lyme Disease.
I have to admit that I did not know very much about Lyme until I was forced to learn about it. It's still hard to understand the immense impact it has on people, and that NOBODY is SPARED the chance of contracting it.
I didn't know that Ben Stiller had a son......doesn't he say that his SON has Lyme? My God, doesn't Ben Stiller himself grasp the seriousness of this horrendous disease?????
Hopefully, something positive will come out of this. I wish him well, but it sounds like he's has it for over a month and he doesn't even fully comprehend the gravity of the situation!
I hope he doesn't brush this under the rug. I hope he decides to use his celebrity status to bring awareness to it and help educate the general public ----------- once HE fully comprehends the facts about Lyme Disease and co-infections.
I'm still just sickened by those remarks IN the article and the comments made by people who read the article................

- His son was treated right away and did just fine. Is fine now. Early treatment really can make a difference. -

Notice at the Academy Awards.....EVERYBODY'S forehead was taut and smooth. Botox practioners were busy for the event.

Little does he know. I'd rather have to have arthroscopic surgery than Lyme disease. Plus if he's having night sweats, he probably has Babs as well.

Absolutely psano2. I'd rather have surgery also.
I remember when I found out I had Lyme, I thought the same thing. Thank God now I know what I have. We'll just get rid of that bacteria in a a few weeks.
I didn't know anything about Lyme at the time.
I don't want anyone to suffer with this disease but wouldn't it be interesting if Ben Stiller begins to experience what so many of us do?
People will know about Lyme disease.

Well, I've had a couple surgeries and they didn't get rid of undiagnosed Lyme disease.

Don't hold your breath. He'll just be dxd with something else.... afterall, Lyme is cured within weeks. (kidding on the last, of course)

Botox is a toxin.....injected right next to the brain. It never fully leaves the body. Autopsies have shown botox in people's lungs and brain. A toxic body makes a perfect environment for lyme.

- TerryK,
thanks for that link. Maybe CALDA would allow all the other state lyme groups to adapt their letter. It would be great if every state could respond. -

"I got this call at like two o'clock in the afternoon (on Monday). The guy said, ''Have you ever had Lyme disease?'' I said, ''No, but I was on the East Coast last summer and my son had Lyme disease''.
"And he said, ''Well, it's looking like it might be Lyme disease''.
"He was saying if it wasn't, I'd have to have an orthoscopic procedure, so if it is Lyme disease, I won't have to have the procedure done, which is great," he added.
Grossly misinformed... Sigh.

I would much rather have a "surgical procedure" than to have LD. Gosh, I would rather have my leg removed and replaced with a prosthetic leg and get on with my life, than to have to deal with LD for years and years or possibly the rest of my life.
So sad how misinformed most of the world is concerning LD. He has no idea!!!
