I just took my first Alinia today and my stomach has been gurgling for a few hours. It's annoying.
Is the a side effect or the drug or are some parasites unhappy?
Has anyone else had this problem? I hope it goes away!

I've had all kinds of weird gut issues as the first few days of any antibiotic, so I wouldn't worry about it unless it persists or you get bad gas/diarrhea/constipation or something else that can cause harm. I think I've had the gurgling before when starting on Alinia and other antibiotics.

Thanks Maria. I hope it goes away soon. I am confused about Alinia's antibiotic status. I thought it was an anti-parasitic drug

Hmmm, I might have mis-spoken to call it an antibiotic. It's used for giardia and other small parasites, and for babesia by some Lyme doctors, along with various small gut parasites.
