I am looking for anyones experience or opinion on my problem. I was treated with oral abx. for 8 months which did NOTHING for me!It was followed by IV Rocephin for 6 months.
I had to stop iv bc it was affecting my gallbladder-bad pains! I improved greatly on it.
I was then on orals until 5 months ago-feeling MUCH better but not 100%.
In the last 3 weeks my symptoms have been returning-neuropathy,brain fog, headaches, exhaustion.
dr. put me on spectracef bc ceftin was making me nauseaus. It has been 3 weeks and I feel worse than ever.
Does it mean abx. are doing something and I am herxing? OR making me feel worse?
Should I try oral doxycycline?
I am pushing for IV rocephin again but will probably lose my gallbladder.
it seemed to be the only thing that made a difference!
Any ideas or thoughts???
thanks, laurie

Have you treated Babesia?
I went on Mepron and it really improved my brain fog. I started to really feel improvement. Unfortunately, I went off because I had a reaction to something, probably the Mepron.
Maybe treating Babs is the missing link.

Doxycycline is a good drug. It hits just about everything babs, bart, lyme, and mycoplasma in varying degrees. It certainly will help with brainfog. Stay out of the sun though with this drug to avoid sun sensitivity.
