"Herxing I know the general term for that but what symptoms do you specifically look for to know that is what's actually happening in a person/child?
Her LLMD wants to test for: Bartonella, CD57, and Human Granulocytic Echrlichiosis IgG, IFA through Labcorps, (to save us money) ...does anyone know how accurate they are?
Was anyone ever told that a child will never actually be "cured" or that because they are young that children are usually "cured"?
I have heard both sides and I am still as confused as before.
She had a tick on her 4 years ago(teacher stated it wasn't attached so I didn;t worry and no symptoms)
I told the LLMD this when he asked if there were any other instances where a tick might have been involved.
My daughter, with memory problems, spoke up and said that when she was in Ohio 6 years ago with her Dad there was one in attached in her hair, but that he got it to finally come out with a smoking match!!
He never ever told me this...says he forgot!!!! Forgot???!!! I am so extremely upset at this point I just want to scream.
Is there hope for her to be "cured" since she has had it so long?
I am so scared and confused and although we can not change the past, angry for what communication could have done for her!!!
I am holding on to dear life for all of your comments, advice and support. I feel so all alone over here.

I forgot to mention that she has: joint pain (knee's, ankles, toes..recently on balls of feet), cognitive problems, memory loss, retinal nerve damage, OCD, Psoriasis, IBS, Allergies, lethargy/fatigue.
With that being said, are these entities irreversable?

My kid seems totally cured and has been off all meds for 18 months. I still watch her like a hawk for relapse or reinfection, but I believe that the lyme and coinfections can be beat back into submission. Are they eradicated? Maybe not but a healthy immune system is keeping what's left in check and her quality of life is improved 1000 percent.

My son has been off all abx for 6 months now too after 18 months of tx. He is fine and living as he has before getting ill. Not sure when he was bit or if I past it down to him long ago when he was born. Either way kids have way better systems and can heal much better then adults IMO. Dr J says he CURES not just puts kids in remission. It will take time and addressing all the co-infections is key too. I know several kids that were CURED!
Hope that gives you some hope.

I believe kids can be cured. That's what my llmd tells me. He trained under the famous Dr. J. (pediatrician).
My son was under treatment for lyme and coinfections for two years after he had aquired the infections in utero.
He has been off all meds now for four months and is doing great!
My LLMD says that kids have such new, fresh immune systems that haven't been tainted with all the environmental toxins that we adults have been exposed to that their bodies are able to rid themselves of the last remaining spirochetes that are left behind after the antibiotics have been used.
According to my LLMD, we're talking CURE, not "CURE". If that makes sense.

I also believe children can be cured or get into remission long term.
Their immune system seems to work better than adults, anyway.
My daughter was very sick too, got bitten many many times since she was 1 year old, and got all sorts of tick born diseases. Her brain, many joints, GI tract were very affected but now she's off treatment too.
She's one of the best in class, her memory is very good. During lyme, her brain went to stand by.
What is strange with kids is that they can fall sick very fast, but the opposite is true too, they can get very fast better, in my feeling.
Hang on! There are many parents in this board that are still in your shoes or that have been in them!
The hardest part is to see them suffering. It's much harder for parents, I feel!
I feel kids get hysically and emotionally well faster, while we parents are still scared or 'mourning' the disease even when it's not there anymore. Kids just move on and live their lives as they deserve.
