Hey everyone, i was just wanting input on my recent blood work- my LLMD noticed my CD 57 has gone down from 153 to 105 and wants me to start on zithromax or ceftin again

the thing that is concerning me is that she said my white blood count was fine but when i got copies of the results on the CBC my white blood count is 1 point below normal and is flagged- on the CD 57 panel it is exactly on the minimum normal 4.0.

She obviously didn't seem concerned about the 1 point or didn't see it on the cbc because she said my WBC was fine- my question is should i be concerned? Is it normal for this to fluctuate and should it go back up?

In my experience with all types of doctors, if the patient's blood test is very slightly outside of the normal range, they consider that a normal reading.

One point outside of the range would not be a concern to the doc.

I don't know how often you are having your blood tested, but if it goes lower the next time, that is probably when the doc will want to do something.

When my white blood cell count went too low (it is due to taking antibiotics), my lyme doc put me on Transfer Factor and retested me in 2 weeks.

The Transfer Factor brought my count right up. This way, I did not have to stop antibiotic treatment.

When the lab report is printed, the computer automatically flags any result outside the normal range. That is to call the doctor's attention to that reading.

This way, the doc can decide if the reading is a concern or not. So, don't treat the flag like it was a person with intelligence. It is just the computer program doing its thing.
