my new symptom this week has been terrible dizziness. I already had vertigo but now I have this dizziness that is keeping me from standing or walking much. Im very nauseous too.
I know it can be a side effect from Rifampin so I skipped one dose of the med to see if it subsided and it hasn't so I assume its not from the med.
Im going to resume tonight. I've just skipped my dose last night so I think it would be out of my system by now and Im still very dizzy.
I've been eating regularily, detoxing with baths and lemon drinks, and Im taking welchol... so I dont think its a tox issue.
I assume its one of the many diseases I have but is there anyhting at all I can do for it?

Have you tried a gluten free diet? I know of someone with dizziness that got a lot better doing it.

- Are you taking acetaminophen? That can be toxic to both the liver and to the ears/vestibular system.
Are you taking liver support supplement?
Lemon is not protective in the same was as milk thistle is to the liver. Welchol can help get some toxins out but does not protect the liver as milk thistle does. Your body still has to deal with the chemistry of it all so, yes, it can still be from toxins.
Also, sometimes, a person can do too much "detox" and that overwhelms the liver as well.
The inner ear is the very first system of the body to detect toxins in the body. So, it's nearly impossible for it not to know a battle is being waged and it reacts accordingly - and that mixes up signals to our brains as to exactly where we are in space - creating the barf factor.
However, Ginger Capsules can help. Magnesium can help. Rest, too - lie with your torso raised to a 30 degree angle. That is the only position in which your inner ear can really rest and get good circulation.
The ginger capsules are far more effective than ginger tea but that can help some. Ginger capsules will help both nausea and vertigo. Best taken with food as ginger can be a bit hot to an empty stomach.
In one study, B-6 has was used (with magnesium) to lessen vertigo from minocycline.
Be sure not to let blood sugar dip too low as that can increase vertigo, too. I sure hope this gets better soon. Take care.

Zofran for the nausea. My doctor says you have to get ahead of it. It is really hard to break the cycle.

How much magnesium and b 6 would I need to take? I think I have it in the house.
I've been trying to be diligent with my blood sugar, eating high fiber foods and frequently too so I think I at least have that under control.
I basically lay on the couch all day only getting up to use the bath room, take a bath, then its off to bed where I lay there until sleep. Its the only position I feel somewhat comfortable but its brutal.
About the liver support- I have milk thistle here too but haven't started it because of the ovarian cyst issue. I wanted to make sure I could take it and forgot to mention it to my doc today.
No, Im not taking tylenol. Only ibruprofen for the horrible headache I have all the time.
For now I will rest and try the mag and b6 and see how that goes. I have an appt with my primary fri to check on my bp and it was pretty low 2 weeks ago..
thanks for all the info!
