I had to stop my rifampin/mino ABX because of another health issue. I have been off for 6 weeks. I was making good progress against lyme/fry bug on this combo. I have read that there is some concerns on restarting rifampin after a break. Anyone with knowledge or experience, I would appreciate your input.

I have read that the break needs to be as long or longer than the time you were on Rifampin.

It is in a Rifampin insert, I'll see if i can find it again and post it here.

Stopping and restarting Rifampin can cause thrombocytopenia - low platelet count. Symptoms would be related to bleeding - bruising, nose bleeds, cuts that don't stop bleeding. I don't know how common this side effect is.

I think at 6 weeks you are OK. I am in the exact same boat. Stopped my program for 6 weeks due to C. diff. Restarting Mino and Rifampin.
