I've gotten a lot better after 20 months of antibiotics but still have some vibrating vision and off-days with cognative impairment.
Since I got sick, I noticed in my lab work that my blood platelets droped from 350 when I was first being tested to about 132 and have stayed low for more than a year.
Could this low platelet count indicate Babesia? I had a high SED rate when I was first tested too.
I take the Biaxin/Plaquenil/Rifampin combo but was wondering if adding Bactrim DS might help me finish this stuff off.
By the way, All my tests for lyme, bart and Babs have always been negative. Fry Blood Smear provided the only positive result.
I tried to add Tinidizol last month for several weeks but it had no effect. I'm close to being back to normal and am wondering if, perhaps, I just need to treat for Babesia.
Your oppinions, advice are welcomed and encouraged!

Below is a chart from Lab Quest Diagnostics that shows Tick illnesses and lab meanings. See Table 6 and 7 which show different co-infections can cause low platelet count.
I dont know how accurate information is, but it is a reference. It shows Babs as having a low Platelet count. My neighbor had Babs and RMSF and had a low platelet count.
Hope this helps.

I have low platelets and don't take pharmaceuticals too often. I don't have a positive babesia diagnosis, but my LLMD has clinically diagnosed me with it.

I have low RED BLOOD CELL count and I have tested positive for babesia. My doctor never notified about this. I found it on my own.
