Hi, I was wondering if anyone has had swelling above and around knee caps. I am in my third week of doxy and have protruding swelling mostly above the kneecaps.
Could this be part of a herx? I have had trouble with wrists, elbows, shoulders and ankles before starting doxy but no trouble with knees.
The swelling started on day 5 of doxy and since increasing doxy dosage 5 days ago the swelling has increased.
Just wondering if others had this.
Thanks

I have it as well. More pronounced on Doxy. I'm assuming it is a herx. My joint pain started on day 2 of Doxy and hasn't stopped since. It's not AS bad but it's still there. I did a 30 day treatment on doxy then got dropped by my doc.
I have to start doxy again but not until I get something to control the pain.

Periodically, I get extra swelling above and below knees [I have some permanent swelling], but I have noticed that it has been better recently, I assume because I have been taking anti inflammatory substances [Curcumin or Resveratrol].

I just found my knee swelling to be because of my kidney trying to detox. Confirmed with ART testing. It is related to the build up of toxins.
Most likely you are re-absorbing toxins in the connective tissue of joints and not moving the die off or the remains of the abx out naturally. Gotta clear your body...
Many of us do not have our detox pathways open, and are working on healing this so our immune system can work correctly. Check out the KPU threads that talk about Pyruluria...and also the Allergie immun threads where people are having success with opening the detox pathways.
Each individual is different.

Allergie Immune treatment is a one time fee...approx. $500. The cheapest therapy with improvements we have done! No MD fees either!
Very easy for kids to do. I have seen dramatic positive improvements for myself and my kids.
You send in your saliva after the two weeks of taking the drops sublingually...no taste at all.
The initial payment covers all sets of individualized drops until therapy is complete...they test to see what needs improvement and when it is done. Usually a year of treatment...very easy.
All details are on the website...and more info on the Allergie Immune thread for those interested in clearing the blocked pathways in the body which most of us with chronic illness have and pass to our children.

Thanks for the replies-I do need to start educating myself about detox/cleaning out the body because I have never done it before.

Start by protecting your liver and kidneys...before beginning a detox regime.
Especially if you are on abx...this is essential.
Take loads of milk thistle...which protects the liver.
There is a product called "liverlife" which is great too.
Take some detox teas occasionally...with dandelion root.
Chlorella is a green supplement...take daily..helps remove toxins naturally...helps clear your organs...very important to your recovery and to not building up excess toxins internally.
And always add a good liquid mineral...Biopure's minerals are great or another liquid mineral is good while on these protocols. Capsules are not absorbed well usually by people with chronic issues until the gut is healed and the liver and kidneys are cleansing the system and moving out the debris naturally. Support your organs.
