Is it safe to take omeprazole for 1 month without causing too many problems or should I try to find another solution for my tummy problems?

Omeprazole is usually used to treat acid reflux. Many people need to take it daily.
You may only need it while you are on antibiotics or until you are feeling better. Then you can gradually stop it to see how you feel. Your prescribing doctor can help you make that decision.
Something to consider, you may be having trouble digesting your food. Sometimes your body tries to compensate by increasing the amount of acid in the stomach to aid in digestion. Try taking some digestive enzymes (without added HCL) with meals to see if that helps reduce your symptoms.
Another OTC supplement option to look into is DGL. It helps protect and repair the esophagus and stomach. Enzymatic Therapy makes a good chewable DGL supplement.

I have been on PPI's for years. Just make sure you get tested (if on long term) for D levels and B12.
Ask your doctor for an H.pylori test, I suffered with this co-infection too long and it makes a world of difference to get rid of it.

I'm taking it with tigecycline to help with nausea. It's been long term (10 weeks plus) and I'm not stopping anytime soon.
One thing my LLMD warned me about was an increased chance of C Diff with omeprazole. I guess, usually your stomach acid kills most of the c diff that comes in on food you ingest (like apples).
so if you block the acid you don't kill the c diff.
He told me to step up my probiotic use to be safe.

It really doesn't sound like I need the omeprazole. I called my LLMD because of burning stomach pain with some nausea for a couple of days. I stopped abx yesterday and today I feel much better. I think I just need to let tummy rest a few more days.
Also, I went on the strictest anti-yeast diet ever 10 days ago. I didn't even think of that. Could it be yeast die off?
