I can no longer take antibiotics well...... It is difficult to take one, let alone 2 at the same time.
But I have been having increased symptoms..... hot flashes, chills, fatigue, g.i symptoms.
(I've been rifing for 5 years.)
I am currently on Erythromycin...... 4 times daily...... ugh!
I'm supposed to add in Plaquenil.
I don't know if I can do it.
Anybody have any suggestions or thoughts on this?
Thank-you,
Bug

I watched the L.I.A. foundation conference the other day and there was a girl on there that spoke, that got rid of lyme disease without antibiotics. She is a runner, went to the olympics.
Sorry I can't remember her name. I think her last name is Fields. She has a book thats coming out that tells how whe got well.
As far as plaquenil...its not an antibiotic, but I believe it is an immune modulator. It might help your immune system to fight the lyme off.
People with autoimmune disorders use Plaquenil to modulate their immune systems.
How long have you been on antibiotics? Maybe the increasing symptoms is a herxheimer reaction, in which case that would be a good thing.

Thank-you sutherngrl for your reply..... I did find the lady you speak of. (site below) I have considered all the above..... it is hard to know if I am having a herx or severe candidiasis or both.

Plaquenil pairs VERY well with either Biaxin or Zithromax, depending on the patient. Those are very good combos.
For Lyme, pair it with Biaxin, for Bartonella-type symptoms, pair it with Zithromax.
I wouldn't take it alone or just with Flagyl. I would take it with one of the above to get more benefit.
Biaxin interacts with other drugs you may be taking, so check out interactions on www.drugs.com's Interactions Checker.

Hmm...I see you're on Erythromycin. That is similar to Biaxin or Zithromax, and would probably also pair well with Plaquenil.
If you aren't tolerating the Erythromycin well, consider switching to one of the other two.
