I finally found a combo, turmeric extract and boswelia that helps with the gi pressure which is really quite maddening and disabling.
So far the antibiotics havnt helped that. Most things that help gi inflammation dont work for me. anyone else relate?

Are you eating strictly gluten free? Is the GI "pressure" from Lyme or from something else?

If by "gi pressure" you mean bloating and gas and diarhhea, you may have a yeast infection in your intestines. (It is common for those of us on antibiotics to get this.)
To get rid of that, you need a prescription for diflucan, and, you must eat the anti-yeast diet as discussed in Burrascano:
The medical name for it is candida.

I have had testing that show GI inflammation, I believed much of it was caused by all the meds because I have to take high doses of ibuprofen for the horrible pain from Lyme and the oral abx really make things worse.
I take about 100million CFU in probiotics per day and saccharomyces boulardii (both recommended by the best LLMd's.
I suffered w/intestinal issues for quite awhile, I was tested for parasites, metals, yeast - all negative.
Finally my LLMd tested me for H.pylori and that was it. It was a miserable disease to have and treating it made all the difference in the world.
Now, anytime I see someone w/GI issues, I urge them (because I suffered years) get tested for H.pylori.
H.pylori is a common co-infection in Lyme patients, many don't know this and how much it can amplify ALL LD symptoms body-wide.

lymebytes,
would you think also patients with diverticulitis should be tested for H.pylori? I know H.pylori is a horrible disease,my grandmother suffered from it.
I never heard it is like a co-infection. Did you test at a specific lab?

What about taking organic aloa vera juice for GI inflammation? I take it and it seems to help.

May I also ask about GI inflamation and natural therapies?
I no longer have diarhea or mucous, not sure what that was about. But, I have rectal pain with certain bowel movements and occasional bright red blood with them.
It feels localized in my rectum like a tear. But, the doctor only said my rectum was inflamed and he took a few biopsies. It was not Crohns or Ulcerative collitis.
I think he wondered if I was into kinky...you know what.
Actually, the truth is, I'm so tired of all the bad breaks, ****ake mushroom luck (basically takin' it up the a^(&(*&^&ss) that's probably why it's inflamed. It's my running joke now...."oh please, no more....it's already so inflamed...."
Serously though, I don't know why I have this and what to do about it either. Jeffe, the GI doc was perplexed and prescribed me rectal steroid suppositories. I may break down and finish them. I'd rather do something else though.
I'm not on any anything except Lamisil. I thought this may be a yeast prob. But, it's bee 6 weeks and the help has not been incredible.
