My family doc says not too bad but up slightly from last year. Says to avoid excessive sugar.

I don't know much about Candida. Should I go on a special diet? Don't know if it is significant or not but I crave sugary foods all day.

The craving is the candida howling for food.
"Everybody" will suggest a very restricyive diet, which is pretty tough to do.
"Conquer Candida and Restore Your Immune System" should be available from www.amazon.com and is IMO is a great way to deal with it.
Not a straightjacket.
Now below this here comes "Everybody." _____________________________________________ My recommendations are based on 25 years experience as a natural health pro - LMT, DC.

I was on the anti-candida diet for 6 months. It is VERY hard but you get used to it and learn new ways of cooking and eating. It's actually a healthy diet.

- Are you being treated for lyme? Taking antibiotics? Then, ALWAYS take probiotics and avoid simple sugars. Everyone on the planet should be avoiding simple sugars, anyway.
You are probably low in magnesium to be craving sugar. Be sure to get a supplement.
Search Quinoa ("keen-wa") - that is an excellent gluten-free whole grain that has a good glycemic index.
ADRENAL SUPPORT is probably needed. Often we crave sugar for energy. Lyme really destroys our adrenal reserves.
So, eat lots of really healthy foods as a basic Mediterranean diet (minus the wheat and the wine), rest, support. Gentle exercise.

Important information about treatments options and support measures, supplements and self-care:
i would suggest giving the no sugar diet a try and see what it does. i have. im a 30/m who loves beer with all his heart and i gave it up because of sugar and alcohol. if i can do that i believe anyone else can give up things they love.
i was feeling horrible and went to <1g of sugar a day, diflucin, and rifampin. i have since had the best month of health ive seen since august.
like i said give it a try, see how it goes, then weight weather its worth it or not.

LOL here too - I am wondering if anyone has ever read a book I have suggested ?
On another site a few years ago with lots of nutrition babble a moniter quit being a moniter after she read the suggested "The Real Truth About Vitamins and Antioxidants".
Another poster there would not read that book after I sent it to her.
Is the net the only source of truth anymore ?
