I've been treating for a year. Was diagnosed with Lyme, Babs and Bart.

Still having lots of symptoms. Been treating Bart for the longest. Wondering how to know if it is "safe" to stop the Rifampin, thinking maybe the remaining symptoms are now Lyme and Babesia as some of my original symptoms have gone away.

Babesia came out of "hiding" and flared after I had been on the Rifampin for a few months. Been on Mepron/Zith since February and not seeing a huge improvement yet in the sweats and air hunger.

Wondering about the Lyme though and it is so confusing as so many symptoms overlap.

Adding Plaquenil and Amox to my tx has made me feel horrid so I am wondering if the Lyme itself isn't causing most of my current problems.

I haven't felt well since I added those in March/April respectively.

How have you untangled the plethora of symptoms to make sense of which infection is causing the problems?

How long have you all had to treat each infection, just curious to know!

I trust my LLMD, he is great but I still make myself crazy trying to figure it all out myself. Something about having a plan and some modicum of control just makes me feel less hopeless!

For disseminated cases, it can take several years to reach remission. I'm sorry to tell you that but I was so mislead early on that I was crushed when I finally learned that it's a rocky road. I also learned late that there are many things that help.

Trying to figure out the distinguishing marks of each infection takes away energy from other things that we need to do to nurture out health. Sometimes, it's impossible as it's become such a mix.

LLMDs have seen thousands of patients. Let yours figure it out. You take care of yourself and know that we just can't know everything. We do the best we can to be proactive and find the best experts we can to guide us.

I'm all for patient education but, from my experience, trying to figure out what symptom is caused by what infection or deficiency can just kidnap one forever.

It takes enough time and energy to understand the things we need to do for excellent self-care. As long as the bases are covered, I just have to let go of trying to connect all the dots.

I'll cover the bases and hope that the dots all disappear. Your control lies in superb self-care, solid support methods and choice of a LLMD who has experience, knowledge and skill.

Your control lies in how well you take care of yourself. That's a huge task right there.

I will add, however, that if a medicine makes you feel just awful or has other sharp effects, be sure to talk with your LLMD so that there may be a switch. Not everyone can tolerate the same meds and your LLMD won't know if you don't tell him.

Especially, with any ear effects, it's important as there are things to help with that.

Regarding breathing difficulties: Magnesium, Cordyceps - and also Curcumin - are huge helpers.

As for drying up those sweats: liver support and adrenal support are key. Curcumin also covers that area. More here:
