My cousin pulled a tick off her child today. What are the recomendations? Do nothing unless symptoms appear? Or head it off with early antibiotics?

I come from family of doctors so when a tick bit me in 2008 they gave me 6 days of Zithro starting next day after this happened (had a tick maybe for an hour)...as u see didn't help...maybe delayed the sickness as I started to have first symptoms 9 month later...no bulls eye rash.

If knew what I know now I would immediately start 400 doxy, 2-3g of amoxy plus Tindamax for at least a month or two. Maybe add Cipro in case of Bart but thats me I'm no doctor [Smile]

and would definitely test the tick...
