please help. son had tick attached, probably since the morning from preschool and we took him to urgent care.

she prescribed 100 mg for 6 days.... please help is 100 mg. enough. my llmd is not in until monday but i want to give him the right dosage now while i can....

just thought i should add he is allergic to amoxy so we couldn't use that and too young for doxy...

i am freaking out... please help, i have the tick alive in a ziplock bag. do i send it to igenex or is there a better place for testing lyme and coinfections?

he weighs 32- 34 lbs. i think.

Maureen - I don't know for sure but thought a comparison might help, my son who is 12 yr old 130 lbs is on Azithromycin 2 X's day 250 mg.

I think I would stick to 100 mg till Monday when you can call your LLMD.

It just makes me so mad that we can't get clear/correct answers from our reg doctors and we have to second guess everything.

I know it is even worse when we don't know what to do for our kids ( been there - actually still there ).

Thinking of you and praying that tick did not pass on anything to your son.

I posted this on your other thread too....I think Ceftin and Omnicef are also safe for children. Definitely double check though. But just wanted to let you know.

During pregnancy, Dr. J recommended eitehr Ceftin or Omnicef, and Zith for me.
