Topic: Question on IV Antibiotics...how to get them

So,I see the doc who diagnosed me with LYme on MOnday and will most likely start treatment. She isn't an official LLMD, but is good and will use alternative treatments in addition to antibiotics. I will most likely use her for hte supplements / immune / digestive health and then go to a proper LLMD in a few weeks.
Anyway...my question is most LLMD's aren't affiliated with a local hospital. So how can I get IV antibiotics if I need them? My doc has no authority to order one at my local hospital.
Concerned.

In my husband's case, the LLMD we saw wrote him a script for IV doxy and we had it all set up at a place by us called Community Surgical. They are not a hospital... they have nurses that came out to set everything up and they delivered the abx once a week.
They submitted everything direct to my insurance.

Yes, home health usually takes care of the infusions.

Yes, my friend's mom gets IV abx. The doctor writes the script (after charging $450 to do so ), it gets delivered to their house and a home health care nurse administers it. And the home health care nurse they use is covered by their insurance.

Your doctor can write a script to have your picc line placed. He can call any hospital that has an intervention radiology dept. The home care nurse can come out once a week to have your dressing changed and labs . She or he will teach you how to adminisyer the iv's. They do not come out daily to do so. I have had the unfortunate situation where my iv antibiotics are no longer covered as well as my nursing services. I have to pay out of pocket. The iv's are helping me and I am doing mich better

Your LLMD can only order a picc line "in state". If you live in another state it will have to be done through an MD in your own state.
How do you know you will even be on IV meds?
