Well my wife was recently diagnosed in late Nov of 09 and we just had my 10yr old son tested with the following results.

Igenex IGM Positive

18kda +
31kda++
39kda IND
41kda+++
58kda+
66+
83-93kda IND

His symptoms are what I would call mild, fatigue, foot pain and occasional cramping.

Needless to say this is horrible to hear but and my bigggest worry is that with treatment, things will get worse? We are 100% behind getting him treated, I just don't know what to expect, given that he is doing very well right now.

Anyone have experiecne with a similar situaion? We also have a 5yr old daughter that probably needs tested and I will probably do the same. Just in shock and cannot believe all of this...

My daughter had few symptoms - daily headaches, some knee pain, foot pain. She only needed 8 months of treatment and herxes were never bad enough to slow her down much. Like you, we only tested her because we recognized the symptoms because of my diagnosis.

Better to catch it and treat it early!!

Sixgoofykids-thanks for the info, I am hopefull that we can get him thru this easier than my wife who is having a difficult time and now she has horrible guilt, thinking this is her fault, which of course it is NOT. I just want to try and mentally prepare myself for what might happen and I hate to see my wife suffer and now possibly my son and daughter.

In your place, I would have the child do the Allergie-Immun therapy first, then address any Lyme and co-infections.

Several parents have their kids on the Allergie-Immun therapy now--check out that thread.

Best,

I was like your son. I only had pretty mild symptoms and only knew what it was because my daughter is pretty sick. I was able to function normally and was concerned that if I started treating, I would get worse.

I have been taking abx for about 20 months so far. I have only herxed maybe 3 times and it lasted less than 24 hours. I definitely feel better on abx. The only bad part is that my symptoms still come back when I stop the abx.

I consider myself lucky that I know what I have and can treat to get rid of it instead of just thinking I am "stressed" (like my doctor said).
