I had a Babesia panel done at Fry labs as my LLMD requested this. When I got the results back it didn't seem that they tested for the west coast strain of Babesia. They did do a PCR. Does a PCR include all strains?
I asked my doctor and she didn't really seem sure. I'm not sure why she ordered this from Fry.
Any thoughts?

I think at Fry you have to request Babesia Duncani testing separately, I know it is either Fry and/or Clongen has a Bab's panel, but Duncani must be requested on its own.
Hopefully someone else can shed more light on this.

Yes, I had. You can call the lab frylabs.com and use the lab number.

Thanks Karen. I'll call them. Did you get a positive Babs test and were you tested for both Microti and Duncani (sp)? Also, I had the smear done. If you had that done what came up on the smear?
I spent $800 on tests and I don't think I got what I needed. I'm hoping that Fry's doesn't say ask your doctor because my doctor doesn't seem to know.
Thanks for the tips.
