I will be getting a Picc line tomorrow and IV Rocephin. I am at the local dr's mercy here. I need to know the usual dosage for this. Is it 4 grams per day according to Dr. B's guidelines? Also, do you do 4 days on and 3 off?
They are trying to get me stabilized enough to get to an LLMD. I'm just thankful there is a local dr willing to help.
I'm still in a hospital bed at home. I can only get up to go to the BR and use a wheelchair for that most of the time. This is the sickest I've ever been.
A little history, I was on abx for 5 years until last Sept. I haven't had any abx since then and had doing fairly good. This all just came on all of a sudden 2 weeks ago. It's all pretty scary as I'm much like Mandy in UOS.
I appreciate all the help when I was in the hospital. My family appreciates it, too.

I am on 2grams daily, no pulse. I was bedridden too. After three weeks I could get up and my head cleared. I was also taking zithro 2 times daily. Hope this helps

Sapphire...u am on 2 grams daily of iv rocephin. i was pretty much in bed as well. i was very dizzy, could barely lift my head up, off balanced, etc. i started to see change after a month. feel better.

Thanks gatorade girl. Now I'm beginning to worry that 4 grams is way too much. Glad you are feeling better.
I need more input. Anyone else??

woman in my old lyme support group did 4 g per day, but only on M, W, and F.
My LLMD is talking about IV Rocephin at 2 g a day. If you are senstive to meds, you might want to try 1 g, 2 x a day and see how that goes.

I am on 2 gr daily, that's what i started on. For a month I was on 2 gram 2x a day, 4days on 2 off. Plus 3 other orals.(month from hell). Back to 2gr 1x a day.

sapphire, I started out on 2g Rocephin once daily in combination with other oral antibiotics. After a couple months the doctor changed my oral antibiotics and had me start 2g twice daily 4days on and 3days off per week.
