hey,

i would like to have some opinions because i dont know how to go on with my treatment. my labs showed last time:

- borrelia pos
- mycoplasma pos
- bartonella pos IGG 1:1000?!

my doc said, that with the mycoplasma and bartonella there are only some IGG in my blood, no more IGM. So she thinks, that i maybe dont have bartonella and mycoplasma anymore... in fact babesia was negative, but we think that i have some babesia because i have some symptoms (i will describe them later).

this month i am exactly 1 year under treatment.. and was only 1/2 year sick before i got my diagnose.

i have done:

6 weeks minocycline 200mg/day + 200mg Hydroxychloroquin
3 weeks rocephin + 200mg mino + 200mg Hydroxychloroquin
3 weeks azi + 200mg mino + 200mg Hydroxychloroquin
2 months mino 200mg + 200mg Hydroxychloroquin
6 weeks factive 320mg/day + 200mg mino + 400mg doxy
7 weeks roxythromycin 600mg/day + 2x200mg Hydroxychloroquin + 2x bactrim DS + Artemisin
3 Months Tavanic 500mg + 2x bactrim DS + 200mg mino + artemisin
10 days metronidazol 800mg/day
6 weeks rifampicin 900mg/day + 2x bactrim DS + artemisin
10 days rifampicin 900mg/day + metronidazol 800mg/day

but i still feel not healthy....every time i take metronodazol it blows me away.. i do always herx on thix ABx.

now i am asking myself, because i had swollen nymph nodes and bad brain fog... if i got rid off my bartonella?! like u see i treated it nearly for 6 months constantly... i will treat it until the end of this month.
some symptoms got better, but the other symptoms didnt disappear.

my current symptoms are:

- often sweating (during the day, this symptom didnt improved since treatment, maybe a little bit)
- dark eye rings (anemia because of babesia? toxins?)
- strange skin color, pale, sometimes dirty, yellowish regluary (my liver enzymes are always checked, they are fine, i had this symptom right before treatment started, its caused by an BUG.. i dont know which one)
- when i wake up i feel like hit by a truck, i feel crappy.. 1 hour after waking up its a lot better
- brain fog .. not as worse as at the beginning, but still there... memory problems, problems to concentrate, problems to "be myself", feeling "drunk", dizzy, headaches improved a lot... now i only have some on the left and right side.. like someone would squeeze my head with his hands.
difficulty to read something, diffyculty to think etc.
- when i have to think about a problem and make a solution or something like that, i can do it, but it takes 5 times longer then before
- feeling fatigued
- tinnitus
- dont want to do something, just sitting around and watch tv (before i got sick i did some sports 2-3 times a week)
- sometimes sore muscles, little bit muscle pain
- vivid dreams since january.. EVERY DAY. sometimes they are violent, 2-3 times a month.
- sometimes stiff neck, neck pain.

my doc want me to do at the beginning of june babesia treatment. at the moment i dont know if this is good "solution"... because i dont know if i treated bartonella enough?!

if i get some babesia treatment.. malarone or something similar... can i do some bicillin shots for borrelia while taking babs meds?

i would prechiate your opinions/help and sry for my bad english i am from germany

have a nice day [Smile]

I am doing Bicillin shots and Malarone: seems to be working, though I know I have to add some other stuff, both for the Babs and the Lyme

I have Bart.
I have symptoms 1,4,5,6,7,8,10,11,12,13
My three biggest symptoms are heel pain, fatigue, brain fog.
I'm taking Rifampin, Azithromycin and Andrographis and these symptoms are getting better.
My LLMD says you must treat Bart before lyme or babs.
I don't know if this helps you or not. I hope it does, even just a little bit.

Your English is much much better than my German [Smile]
Ich hoffe, dass du sehr bald besser fuehlst!

hey,

thx 4 some responses. i sometimes have some heel pain too, but it appeared after 3 months of tavanic. before tavanic i didnt have any heelpain.

at the moment, i dont know which bug is causing the symptoms...on one side i look @ my abx kalendar and see that im soon treating barts for 1/2 year. many people say that bartonella responds quickly to some abx, thats why im thinking that the symptoms could be from borrelia or babesia.

@17 hens u see that our symptoms overlap... especially the curious symptoms like pale/dirty skin are prescribed to babesia.
what bloodwork was done on you? was babesia negative??

its really hard to make some difference which bug could cause this Fu""""ing brain fog.. i think its the worst symptom!

Daniel,

I was tested 3 times for lyme, everytime negative, and 1 time for bart and bab, which were also negative. But I had a tick and a bull's eye and symptoms started 3 days later, so I know I had lyme&co.

My LLMD gave me a clinical diagnosis as he said so often coinfection testing is wrong anyway. He is treating me for bart now, then babs, then lyme. Also because both of my kids have both bart & babs symptoms.

For the brain fog, he gave me Andrographis herb which has really helped. It is a Steven Buhner protocol. (He probably has the Latin name if you need me to find it for you.) It is an herb that can cross the blood/brain barrier.

When I started taking it, I noticed a clearer brain in 2 weeks. I still had trouble with remembering words and I couldn't take too much noise or confusion. But I had no pressure or pain and I could have longer conversations and I could read and focus better. (In Buhner's book, he says that you get better results when you take it for a long time.)

I felt pretty good for quite a few weeks and then about a month ago, I started getting brain fog with head pressure and pain again. I thought the Andrographis must have stopped working so well and I started to take more.

I was really miserable for about a month. Then I had an idea that the pressure and pain might be from ammonia toxins building up in my brain.

I stopped the Andrographis for 4 days and then started again but at a very low dose. And at the same time I drank a lot of lemon water and ate lots of asparagus. That really helped a lot and I feel much better now.

I hope you can find something that helps you. Brain fog is the worst!

I would go with the Babesia protocol to see what

happens. If you hit it you will know it. The test

is not reliable in Lyme and if your doc thinks you

have it you probably do. Sometimes I think the only

way to tell is to treat. I am now and It is rough,

but that tells me I have found meds that are

killing something.

You can try something like Amoxicillin for the Lyme. It doesn't look like you have tried anything similar to that yet.

Another thing to try instead of Amox is Ceftin. You will want to take something else with either of those drugs, of course.

Look into Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN) if you haven't. I feel it has helped my immune system, so that I respond better to the antibiotics.

www.lowdosenaltrexone.org

Because if you haven't herxed or seen improvement from some of those combinations, I'd have to think your immune system is not helping you.

Don't let it get you down though...there is still hope. Look into the LDN, especially the exact type you need (NOT the extended release).

Do you feel worse on the meds? If so, you might need to really work on detox (juicing carrots and celergy, infrared sauna, etc).

I have quite a few of those symptoms (dark eye rings, horrible mornings, fatigued, can only sit around). I know how hard it is. Keep fighting! Best of luck.

Also, you could try a gluten free diet or a dairy free diet and see if that helps how you feel.

And if I were you, I would be taking 2 Nystatin pills (500,000 iu pill), 2 or 3 times a day, to prevent yeast.

Diflucan might help your brain if the problem is yeast, but I am thinking it's the Bartonella still. I have heard high IgG titers can still mean recent infection. Also, there is a small chance the Diflucan will help the dark eye circles. I have had that happen once or twice.

Have you tried B12 shots for energy? Methyl B12 is the best kind, if you can get it.

I am not a doctor!!!!!

hey hoosiers,

thx for your help. i will try some bicillin shots while on babs meds. my CD57 is at 392.. range is 60-360. so i think my immune system is working very well.. i detox with chlorella and taking nystatin twice daily + oral suspension.

i think that i have babesia too.. because im often pale and need time to think about thinks, im very lazy, dont wanna do something etc. that could be the reason why the borrelia meds didnt work that much?!

I have/had similar symptoms. Tested pos for lyme and babs, clinical dx (to save $$ on the test as it was obvious I had it) for bart. Don't know about myco, we didn't test. Anyhow.

We treated bart from Dec of '08 to about July of '09. It was definitely NOT enough! Within 3 days my bart symptoms were worsening. Didn't get started back on bart treatment till about Oct of last year. Still treating. This bug is STUBBORN!

We added babs treatment somewhere around Feb-Mar, and finally I am seeing improvement.

I'm taking zith, mepron, cipro, and plaquenil. Doc says that one (can't remember which, now) is also helpful for cystic lyme and another for one of the other forms of lyme, so I guess we're really treating all 3 at once. (?)
