My doc prescribed Naltrexone 4.5mg at bedtime for Herxing. I have to get it from Gideon's Drugs in NYC as it is a "compounding" pharmacy.

I googled it...it said it is usually used for alcohol and opiate addictions yet is great for "rapid detox."

Just wondering if others have experience with it.

I started it about a month ago at a lower dose: it gave me headaches and fatigue so I stopped and then started at half that dosage & worked up. I don't know that it helps herxing, but it does make me feel better most days.

I started LDN about 2 1/2 months ago. My Doc gave it to me hoping to regulate my immune system. I have RA caused by lyme.

I started at 1.5mg for 1 mo., then 3mg for a mo., then 4.5mg. I have been on the 4.5mg for 2 weeks and had more symtoms come back, like knee pain. Herx?? My knee pain is gone now.

I had not heard of it for rapid detox. Interesting, cause I think I am having problems detoxing. I am going to google detox and Naltrexone.

I have high hopes for this drug. I beleive in mind over matter, so...... if I really beleive it will help, it will.

Keep us informed on how it is working for you.

I am told it is best to get this from a compounding pharmacy like Gideon's. Otherwise it isn't as good.

I faxed in my Rx today and they will mail me my drugs.
