I have so much trouble focusing and getting anything accomplished. I can't seem to stay on track to do and complete 1 thing. Quite frustating.
Does anyone know of a natural supplement I can take to help me focus?
I'm in my 40's and do not want to go to the Dr. about this.

Hi, I have this too, beside abx the things that helped me were anything that helped with inflamation, such as fish oil, treating yeast, taking something to absorb toxins and getting enough sleep. I hope you find something that helps you.
Good luck to you.

Me too! I have the attention span of a 4 year old! I also have trouble making even simple decisions.
For me the brain fog has improved with treatment; but I still have issues with attention and concentration.

It has non drug natural ways to deal with ADHD, ADD + ODD.
One lousy review is actually from a woman who has written a book on ADD about using lots of drugs. Not my style.

- * ADRENAL SUPPORT is vital to help with brain function, especially for lyme patients. It's nearly impossible to carry out a thought if the adrenal system is exhausted and dysfunction (as usually goes with lyme).
* d-Ribose, Gotu Kola, Curcumin, Fish Oil (OmegaBrite).
* LIVER SUPPORT as ADD in lyme patients has much to do with toxins.
* Heavy metal detox.
* Gluten-free diet.
* Right balance between sleep, rest and movement that gets circulation gently going without causing exhaustion.
* Tai Chi and Qi Gong can have profound effects on the body and the brain. It's a combination of movement and meditation.
* Listen to MOZART. Of all the composers, of all time, Mozart's music wakes up the brain while helping the body achieve a balance. He never dumped rage or despair in his music so the listener can be safe with nearly any of his works, knowing that Mozart will be uplifting.
And, even before bed, there is the compilation CD: "Mozart at Midnight" and I use "Mozart for Massage" for my dental appointments.
US researchers have discovered a likely reason why people find it hard to do two things at once. . . .
. . . They found that the lateral frontal and prefrontal cortex, and also the superior frontal cortex, were unable to process two tasks at once, leading to a bottleneck. . . .
Excerpt: Gotu Kola is bitter and astringent in taste and cooling in action. It is a brain and memory tonic, and an anti-poison, and very useful for wound and skin healing.
. . . concentration . . . . -

- Protein may be too low. It really helps with concentration.

WHAT IT DOES: Turmeric root is bitter in taste and warming in action. It strongly reduces inflammation and mucus in all parts of the body, protects the liver, lungs and intestines . . . .
SAFETY ISSUES: Due to mucin-reducing effects, do not use the concentrated extract (curcumin) or oil in high doses, especially if you have bile duct obstruction, gall stones, or stomach ulcers. Use turmeric as a spice freely.

A recently published study investigated the effects of curcumin, a constituent of the botanical turmeric, on changes in cognition and memory caused by stress. . . .
In this new study, researchers investigated the effect of curcumin supplementation on stress-induced learning defects in mice. . . .
The results of the study showed that curcumin reversed memory deficits in a dose dependent manner, meaning increasing dosages of curcumin provided increasingly improved memory in the mice.
In addition, curcumin reversed the stress-induced increase in the levels of serum corticosterone, the primary hormone secreted during the stress response.
The researchers also found that the effectiveness of curcumin was similar to the effects of a tri-cyclic antidepressant.
. . . inhibited changes due to corticosterone-induced toxicity including preserving nerve cell connections, and inhibiting the corticosterone-induced activation of the enzyme calcium/calmodulin kinase II and stimulated glutamate receptor expression, which play a role in neurotransmitter secretion and certain kinds of memory and learning.
The researchers concluded, ``Thus, curcumin may be an effective therapeutic for learning and memory disturbances as was seen within these stress models, and
its neuroprotective effect was mediated in part by normalizing the corticosterone response, resulting in down-regulating of the phosphorylated calcium/calmodulin kinase II and glutamate receptor levels.'' -

The few years before I was diagnosed I was having attention issues and used a product called "focus Formula". It is an herbal remedy from a company called Native Remedies. They have a website. It did help.
Check out the website!
