just wondering if anyone knows whether or not lyme and/or other related tick borne diseases can be transferred from human to human without a tick. Has there been any research on this subject?
thanks,

I need to add that maybe not contagious but possibly sexually transmitted , this is what I was referring to not having any studies ran yet .

They know it can be passed from mother to unborn baby (there are many studies that demonstrate this), and it also can be passed through breastmilk, or that is highly likely based on animal studies. Not sure about human studies on breastmilk, but most Lyme doctors say to be careful.
Any other ways are not proven, but it has been suggested it can be sexually transmitted. Personally, I don't believe that happens, or if it does, I believe it's very rare. That is just my opinion, based on living my life.
Other Lyme doctors will swear it can be sexually transmitted. But so far it hasn't been proven.

I think in order to keep our loved ones safe, because I know I never want any of them to experience this pain, I treat it as it is. Except my husband of course, that is a different story. But my daughters I only kiss on the cheek and tell them to do the same to me. I tell them mommy is sick and I'm afraid they'll get it.
No one touches my blood but me...If I am bloody somehow I clean it up immediately. I don't let the kids drink after me. I don't know how contagious it is or isn't but I'm not going to find out the hard way.
My baby, who is 18 months, may have it already since I have probably been infected for years. I hope not, but at least I know what to watch for.
And keeping germs to myself, via kissing the kids and stuff, is not only good for them but good for me too, with my already depleated immune system, and then long term abx on top of it I can't risk getting sick either, ya know.
I think the old saying is best with Lyme, better safe than sorry.

- If you are in an intimate relationship, your partner should also consult with your LLMD as, yes, lyme can be sexually transmitted. -

I was taught 6 years ago by a very very sharp Nurse Practitioner from PA that all body fluids can carry lyme.
It is lyme's job to multiply + divide and do it effectively. And it does.

I am thinking the same. To this day they still cannot culture Syph. And Borrelis is very hard to culture. So it is very important to remain in body.
