When I lie down to sleep at night, I often feel as though invisible mites are biting my skin - not everywhere, but usually on my upper arms and upper legs. I bathe every morning and wear freshly laundered pjs to bed. I've even bathed in salt water, but no change. I have to get up and powder my skin with talcum - then there're no more bites and I can sleep. Is this lyme-related? Does anyone else have this happen to them? Does anyone know of a solution?

I have bites on the skin, but it is from the inside. I never tried talcum or anything else. Do you also have red little dots on the skin?

karenl: Thanks for the post. No, I have no red dots. I see that bathing in epsom saltz is recommended -Why do people do that and I wonder if that could help?

Lyme disease has a MAJOR parasite/worm component. Many people have complained about biting stinging crawling feelings. Check out
Burgdorfer found Adult Filarial Worms in the ticks he dissected. I had EXACTLY everything pictured on lymephotos come pouring out of me after I started antiparasitic herbs and salt/c.

Another question - would the Salt C protocol raise your blood pressure - for example - in an older person?

There is a lot of contoversy about the salt/c protocol on here. I have been doing it for 4 yrs and my b/p runs a steady 120/70. If you do it you have to ramp up slowly.
It is very powerful. Check with the people at lymestrategies as these are the people with Lyme doing this protocol. You can always start with antiparasitic herbs and see what the results are.
There is a lot of info here on lymenet about antiparasitics and salt/c. Go to the search bar at the top and type in those words.

I agree with glm. I had a rash on my face that was cured with Ivermectin for skin mites; a type of parasite.

Blinkie,
although I think my red dots are bacterial as the react to minocyclin a lot I would anyhow want to try the Ivermectin. How much did you take and was there any negative experience with it. Can you recommend it?
