Protein shake recipe: My current favorite - sorta like a frappacino but wheeeyyyyyyyy healthier! (funny pun, huh?)

Make in the large cup of the Magic Bullet
Magic bullet makes a better shake than most blenders (yes, even the expensive ones). Of course a VitaMix is best but who can afford one of those?

8 oz. Pacific Almond Milk
1 scoop of Jarrow Unflavored Whey
1 tsp Now granular lecithin
2 to 4 Tbsp Now organic cocoa
Fresh spinach leaves (about an once - not really sure)
6 Frozen teeccino ice cubes (see below)
Stevia to taste (I use NuNaturals NoCarb Stevia from Iherb.com - little less than 1/4 tsp)

I mix everything together except the ice cubes. When the other stuff is mixed I put in the cubes and mix until it is smooth.

(Why spinach? 1. It's really good for you! 2. It makes the shake smoother and less icy and you can't taste it at all.)

How to make teeccino ice: Get Teeccino: http://www.teeccino.com/ ( you can alos get it at vitacost.com, vitaglo.com and iherb.com )

I brew mine double strength and them cool on the counter. Then freeze in ice cube tray. Important to let cool before freezing to avoid it becoming bitter.

VARIATIONS:
Can be made with regular ice if you do not like Teeccino.

Can be made with Real Coffee Ice Cubes if you are bad and drink coffee

Can be made with Plain ice and berries instead of chocolate and teeccino

My favorite variation is Frozen strawberries and lemon juice.

Also you can replace some of the almond milk with tofu and/or yogurt for a creamier texture.

Actually variations are endless.

Basically, in every shake I use:
8 oz of some liquid or mixture of liquid/yogurt/tofu
Spinach
Scoop of protein
Some for of Ice
Some stevia
Some lecithin

Flavors can be mixed up. Frontier sells a line of Alchol free flavorings that I have used from time to time. You can Google "Frontier alcohol free flavor" and find info.

Hope this helps somebody. Possibilities are endless. Don't be afraid of adding the spinach it really helps the texture of the shake.

So I'm bad? Coffee = my only vice left

I drink homemade kefir, a scoop of vanilla whey, and a scoop of Garden of Life Super Seed. Mine isn't frozen, but my kids add frozen berries and blend theirs.

If dairy and gluten are a problem, you can use rice protein. I've been using Nutribiotic brand Plain rice protein. You can do all of the same things. I'll try the spinach.....good way to get some raw greens isn't it. Thanks for sharing.

I also use about 2 teaspoons of cinnamon aqnd 1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon ginger, good for flavor but even better for the healing effects.

I hang on to my organic home brewed coffee. [Smile] Hey, I keep in mind all of the benefits I've read!

Thanks for posting the recipes. I use whey harmonized protein from Australia. It also contains enzymes, lecithin and some sea veggies. I add Green Goodness from Bolthouse farms amd Pomegranite juice.

Sometimes I add cinammon and ginger. I really miss my coffee and cigarettes. I think if I could afford the cigs I probably would be bad......bad to the bone!!!

Coffee is not really that bad for us and if you add cinnamon and cloves it can be antiparasitic. I agree with GiGi on another post that we need some acid in our tummys. That is why we produce HCL..(hydrochloric acid) to kill bacteria.

Someone else last week had a similar thread. I was reminded that when I took ImmunoPro Rx whey, the instructions were to not blend it - just shake gently as not to destroy some of the helpful properties.

I don't know if their company still advised that and, in just a sort search for that, all I get from google are places that sell it - so it's hard to check. I'll see if I can find it later.

About UNDENATURED WHEY.

Using Bing.com, I found what I needed right away. Yes, they still say not to put whey in a blender - and also not to combine it with most foods. Here's why:
---------------

https://www.prohealth.com/shop/product.cfm/product__code/N056

ImmunePro RX (Whey)

ImmunePro RX contains Lactoferrin, Immunoglobulins (IgGs), Bovine Serum Albumin, Active Peptides and Growth Factors to promote optimal immune function and detoxification.
. . .

* What is the best way to store ImmunePro RX?

60 degrees Fahrenheit (or cooler) in a dry location; refrigeration is acceptable.

* What is the best solution to mix it in?

Purified water is the best liquid to thoroughly mix ImmuneProRx. Use a sealable container to shake it, or a MANUAL eggbeater.

* Do not use an electric blender. The whey proteins are easily denatured through heat and pH change.

Mixing the whey protein with any other types of food can induce a pH change and slow the transit time in the stomach through its digestive response to the solid food.

Liquids that are not neutral in their pH can also denature the proteins, for example: most fruit juices, coffee, and tea. By following the above guide, the uptake of the undenatured protein fractions in the upper small intestine is optimized.

A small amount of Stevia is an acceptable sweetener, if desired, for palatability.

. . . .

Their protein powder is top of the line.
It's rice protein.
No whey, gluten, corn, soy, milk, lactose, non-GMO

I mix it with almond milk and it's soooo gooood.

If you mix in a good strong blender, you can save money by first adding almonds to filtered water. It will be thicker with some tiny almond pieces unless you'd want to make the almond milk first and strain it.

The almond milk from fresh almonds is amazing. The almond pulp can be used in oatmeal and soups, etc.

And, hey, everyone, remember to wear ear plugs or ear muffs when running blenders. Ears are more susceptible to noise damage when on abx - and - anyway - everyone should always wear hearing protection around blenders, vacuums, hairdryers to protect the many functions of their ears.

Have any idea were to get almonds that have not been irradiated? They are not easy to find...

Why is it that every time there's a really great food - they do something bizarre to it.

I use

1 scoop unflavored Whey protein
5-6 large strawberries
1/2 banana
1/4 cup water

Blend in blender until smooth.

No sweetener needed.

Pour into a glass with a few ice cubes.

These are some of the best tasting organic raw almonds you can buy, BUT they're expensive! Not from China!

Thanks Gary - I always wanted to buy something from these people.

I think the US raw, organic almonds are still irradiated, though... I think you have to get some almonds from the Hunzas or someplace outside of the country for them to NOT be irradiated.

Clean, pure food is getting harder & harder to find. More expensive, too. It's really a shame. I heard a show on GMOs on the radio last night - OMG.... ! It's really not good for human health, animal health or the environment.

Seems like "they" really want to kull the population...
